but a number of my frens riding sv are going regularly..

it's becos they also go on weekdays, so i cannot go.. sian sian..

 

remember wat mode of riding u'll be doing.. if u think tat it's gonna be a moderate test of ur abilities, then it means tat u wun be risking ur neck... then, a normal meshed armour jacket will do, along with jeans (+knee pads like bbdc one if u wan), boots, long gloves and full face helmet...

 

if u r going for faster track times, and as low as u can go.. u must expect to crash.. cos in every corner, u are thinking about going lower and exiting faster.. so chances of crashing is quite high liao.. better get the best gear..

wah! so jialat ar? think the lady riders here can invest in a pre-paid card so that she can give them that number... lidat then she wont mix up road-block police numbers with friends' numbers... haha!!

 

btw... how do you "see 10 road blocks and kerna stop 20 times"??

btw hart, i just joined your Skidders' Club early this morning...heh heh...

 

went to msia over the wkend then i had some stuff on today at 8.30am back in sg so my bf n i were travelling towards NSHW at abt 5+, 6am...my bf was leading the way (believe the newscaster when she reports to you that msia's PSI is high...i couldn't see beyond 10m at some points! imagine i was travelling abt 2 car lengths behind him and i could only see the red backlight...everything else was just foggy n blur)

 

den we approached a traffic junction (with filter lane) and i saw my bf's left signal, so i prepared to turn left too, then he changed his mind, so naturally i braked to slow my bike...as i became nearer, i decided to bring my bike to a stop cuz he started changing dir at low speed...but (stupid me)...i used front brake reduce the bike's speed and before i could really react, the handlebar went out of control and my bike was on the floor in a split sec...luckily i was agile enough to throw bike and jump away as it was landing...and luckily, there were no cars behind (think if i were on NSHW...i probably wun be here typing alr)

 

end up absolutely no injury but my front no plate is quite obviously bent, my right mirror turned inwards n downwards, my right footrest bent upwards, and right side of my box has 'claw' marks...amazingly my fairing and exhast were unscathed...i've seen really bad scratches on fairings before...

 

just to share main reasons why i skidded...i believe most importantly was because the area was covered with sand, hence the inability of the front tyre to grip the grd, and of cuz, my failure to use rear brake as well (though my rear brake is not v effective in the first place, but that's not the pt haha)...

 

so everyone, pls dun commit the same mistake as me k

initially on my phantom, i also had the same experience.. when u panic, u tend to apply too much of the front brakes.. and at low speeds, it's so easy to lock the wheel and get urself thrown forward...

 

this nothing to prevent this.. the only way is to gain experience and be anticipating.. esp when u r following someone..

 

 

just have to be careful.. but not paranoid (if not u'll never enjoy riding). When u fall, pick urself up and start all over.. riding is alwayz enjoyable.. we can't predict everything, just do wat we can and enjoy the feeling...

 

i hope u r ok.. take care care, remember to clean up all ur wounds.. infections really sux..

yea man...quite a good experience, IMHO...some things need to be learnt through experience...the instructors may tell u all their stories n theories but at times it's difficult to really emphathize and remember while riding...
