LAB got stock for coverset already?! They always no stock for the coverset lei. Especially the head fairing. Haha. My wave COE ending soon so gonna renew and give her a makeover with a new coverset and engine overhaul. Talking about EO, I personally have no preference over brands. I usually use the cheap ones like those selling at LAB cause i change every 2 weeks due to long distance travelling from intern coy and home and also from weekends delivery work. Petrol also pump the cheap ones. Very economical.

Thanx bro!

That's what LAB said. He has all the coversets in stock and doesn't sell the head fairing separately. :( So I DIY sprayed my grey head fairing to black with the help of newspapers and masking tape.

Anybody looking for the front basket?

Selling off mine. Brand new. $10

P.S - This basket is the front metal mesh type located above the mudguard. NOT the PVC type centre basket. :)

hey guys, wanna ask if wave front forks can be upgraded.

right now, currently always pillion and the rear sometimes bottoms out.. which feels kinda messed up. for the rear i do realise there's the yss, kyb, racing boy, gazi options.

however, for the front may i know if there's any good bang for the buck kinda fork upgrades, or is there no aftermarket forks for it?

Thank you so much.

one more thing guys, when i travel at specifically 55-65km\h, the handlebar has minor wobbles, if i slowly release my grip at the speed, the bike has minor tank slapping symptoms. May i know if its a problem with the forks(slanted or smth?), or is it tyre problems?

Kinda feel damn unstable with it.. and wish to do some preventive measure, to fix or change the problem part.. Thus asking about the front fork in post above.

Kindly help me pls.

Thank you.

From what i know there are aftermarket forks and even inverted ones available from LAB SG or LAB JB. But i always have preference for stock parts and after servicing the forks they usually are as good as new. Unless they're bent of course and in this case no choice but need to get new ones.

I think this may be caused by alot of factors which can include deflated tyres, worn out tyres, wornout wheel bearings, handling misalignment and etc. To be sure, I think its best you bring your bike to a trusted mechanic for a quick checkup. :)

Why so serious?

Yesh. Agree with u bro.

Original parts are built to last.

However, if one is looking for a pair of aftermarket forks, u can custom a pair of inverted forks @ Teck Thye located @ Braddell Rd. His name is David. A veteran mechanic in the biking industry. He also does rebuilding of shocks & front fork.

I had the same issue. Changed my tyres & cone bearing. That's it. Problem solved. :D

Hey juelz and logan.

Thanks man, really quite worried about the wobbling.. Appreciated all the advices given. I will bring the vehicle down to my mech for an inspection immediately, paying attention to the cone and tyres.

Mine is a eight year old bike and i didnt know the forks and shocks could be serviced. May i kindly get any rough estimation for them?

The reason i'm thinking of an aftermarket one is because 1st the bike is 8 year old, 2nd i'm 70kg + my 70kg pillion, i'm not certain the suspension could really handle it. could you guys advise me on this?cause in the end, if servicing them is cheaper than purchasing a aftermarket set, i'll definitely go with the cheaper option. but i will love to hear your opinions on the stock shocks with a 140kg load.

lastly, can advise me what tires to run with? i'm currently using IRC wild fire or something like that.. Works alright but since i might be changing tires, i rather know what to change to..

Thank you very much guys.. Really.

Are u comfy going to JB?

If so, I can bring you to a shop in JB.

Cheap parts for Wave. Did all my parts replacement there actually. ;)

As for the forks, they can be serviced.

As for rear shocks, I was actually referring to aftermarket shocks like Showa/Ohlins/Bitubo etc. These brands can be serviced unlike our stock ones. U can opt to get a pair of chrome heavy duty shocks from LAB for $40.

Tyres in SG, my favourite choices are

Dunlop TT900/TT901 (cheap & good grip)

Tyres in Msia, my favourite choices are

Dunlop TT900 (Thailand)

Sime Tyres (Vietnam)

Michelin Pilot Sporty tends to be slippery based on my experience.

Battalax? No point for slow cubs.

Heavy tyres and we don't need the huge sidewalls unless u gonna "cub-corner" @ every turn! :D
