The machine price would be less but your insurance will cost more these days.

Wah...hornet machine price 1.8 sia...Sianz..

but the condition seems damn gd...haha...shld i..??

There are a few things you need to check.

1)The chasis( see if there are any marks or bending due to welding)

2)The suspensions( see if the front fork seals leak oil and if the rear spring has a squeaky sound)

3)The brakes( see if the front and rear master brake pumps work and if they spongy)

4)The electrical( once you switch the electrical, try horning to hear the loudness which is a good indicator of the battery's health, see if the bulbs from the lights are strong.)

5)The engine( turn on the engine to hear the sound of the engine - best done with a person who is experienced and can detect engine problems by the sound , the lights of the bike should not flicker too much as it could indicate problems with the electrical units such as stator comp, rectifier or even the cdi.... Read up and research through the internet before buying.

NEVER BUY BASED ON THE ATTRACTION AND IMPULSE!!!

HOPE THIS HELPS

Thankz loads!!will def look into those..

but nt all engine sounds the same right....??

2 stroke engines are very different but you can actually 'hear out' the piston rings if they happen to be worn.

Do not confuse exhaust sound with engine sound.

Just visited First Motor in the morning, and indeed Mr Lim quoted 1.8K( the same red/ white FM 2293 hornet in the pic in another post ), but he wil include a major restoration of the bike, which means full tip top servicing from bolts to paintwork( new clear coat after polish off old )... will include used racing tyres if confirmed which think it`s very worth the penny of this good old skool bike. If take and go I think he will let go around 1.4K bah... just forget to chk hw many years COE left( any idea bro Cerberus ), and i`m considering this bike if now my little princess allow me to ride again!:cheeky:

Hi Megaswaran,

Needs to clarify with you whether is all the 1993-1994 registered bikes are full powered Italy imports? Have done some research as according to frame nos. ZDCJC22800****( the above bike ), these were French restricted Imports, as the letter "8" represents letter "B".Therefore, all chassis nos. for French reads ZDCJC22B****. Your bike frame also have the same number too!
