Hi,

Anyone knows if the rear shock between F4 and F4i are interchangable? Any difference between them besides color of the spring? Thx

A question here fellas,

my heart goes for the F4i, but a friend said the F4 is much better. No power cut, and easier to take care since its using carburettor.

I countered saying the F4i has better fuel intake, and was more precise, no need to tune everytime when service the bike, but he replied the F4i needed tuning and when the problems come, it'll be more costly.

Of course, there are no real cases here to bounce back on, but would like to hear you guys' opinions. Care to advise?

Hi Fly_Boy,

I own a F4 from year 2000 to 2002.

My friends were riding F4i then.

Power wise, F4 is a little slower when we roll on in mid range.

Being a non FI bike, I have less problems to solve and used it extensively on Track and Touring. Very versatile, even a mainstand for lubing.

Friends' F4i need to clean the sensor once a while(airflow or something)

Otherwise it is a fine bike, just like F4.

Stopped riding for many years.

Recently I bought a F4 again. :-)

Being a 9 years old bike, I am still amazed with Honda Quality.

All the horses in the bike still pretty awake.. still manage to get 250km/hr

My choice still on the Carb model for a 129000 km (9yrs old bike)

at least i dun have to worry abt Fi problem...

I $3800 for my FR plate HONDA F4.

Maybe $1k more for f4i?

Just my guess.. :-)

Why you wanna get a f4 or F4i?

I am surprise that the insurance for F4(3rd party) $178, and I am 33 yrs old.

Haaa! Rd tax $184/yr....

$30 per month to keep this running. :-)

Tested my fren's bike, and found it smooth and easy to handle. Now, after getting to know about the running costs, seems pretty decent to maintain per mth as well.

Got my class 2 some mths back, therefore wanna change and ride this bike, but keeping my options open..

Thx Acerbliss

My 99 F4 (carb model) gets close to 19km/l in Singapore (half city, half highway). My riding style is too mellow for a sportsbike though. Good daily bike if that's you're looking for, a balance of power and other considerations.
