Hi,

Was gonna change my triple clamp on my VFR when I hit onto an obstacle. Picture shows the bolts on the ignition switch, which seems to be drilled and rounded.

Question is, how do I remove my ignition switch then? Or where can I go to remove it?

Tks!

Send to a workshop. It can only be removed with 'illegal means'. Some mechanics have their own special ways to remove it.

If nothing is blocking the path, a tap can be inserted to cut a left hand thread and screw in a left hand threaded bolt to counter the tightening and loosening direction and remove it. But apparently in the picture it is not the case.

If you drill through, it may complicate matters.

I would bring it to a machine shop, and tap weld an angle rod to turn it out. I had similar problems when I was trying to remove the crankcase cover on a very old bike which I was restoring.

I thought of the tapping too, but then it may prove costlier than giving it to a workshop. Why the hell did Honda do such silly things?!?!

Any recommendation? Which machine shop?
