Dear SBFers,

i had an accident in malaysia and recovering now.

it was a hit and run case - i learnt later as i fell unconscious soon after accident.

so, no insurance coverage for vehicle reppair/spare parts applicable..

my bike is in yong peng police station...

as i see it, i dont think its worth the few 100 dollars to move it to singapore and another 500-800 dollaars to repair it...

so, one option i am thuinking of is to de-register the vehicle...

with the motorbike in malaysia, scrapped with a local malaysian scrapyard, can i de-register the vehicxle with LTA?

i basically want to keep the cost minimum in de-registering.. so any other advice would be great...

or any other options available for me?

thanks..

wish u recover fast n rest well.

if u wish to de-register, check with lta, i'm not sure, but i think shouldn't be a problem.

or u can find a trustworthy workshop in malaysia n tow there for repairs.

take note to place ur action fast, else they charge u fees for storage.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

i think when you de-register a bike you gotta send it to a scrap yard that lta approves then they give u a note that confirms it thennnnnnnn you nid to submit that note to lta. so im not sure how you gonna do that in msia.

i may be wrong though so.. good luck aniwaes.

o ya. you can also tow the bike to a shop u know and ask them to handle the scrapping for you which cost maybe about 50? excluding the towing. hassle free.
