  1. Triggered by a posting with regarding to YZF-R15 V3 and was instantly amazed at the machine. Had the V1 in way back in 14 and I still remember the days where I would deliberately go bike shopping while taking lessons from SSDC. Imaginations sets in whenever I walk by the glass panel and step one "oh, I had a 2B license for the longest time and Im not too sure it R15 is the right bike?" and proceed asking alot of questions. Questions that for a bike veteran like them wold instantly call bluff at my lack of biking knowledge. This thread has been the motivation for my grueling bike lessons where I faced failure for a certain lesson. The posts here were just too darn tempting for me to jump onto any bike. Hack! I would join pizzahut just to ride a bike, but I dont have a license. The people here exchanging bike talks made me even distant as I really dont have a machine to talk about nor to share about my observations. Soon, TP came. The test of my lifetime (I had PPL test hence I think I was more grounded this time round?) as this is what I have really wanted. I passed. On my first try. Almost instantly, I grab my license slip and rush to Dominoes wanting to apply as a rider. It was the Sembawang road branch. Eventually I could ride on the road.. BIG TIME! As thanks to Dominoes, I have great wealth of experience in riding outside of what I learned in the school. Every dollar I saved up, every delivery I made. I know "debbie" would come to me. Yes, debbie was the name of my R15. (Cause I cannot afford a Derbi RS anyways). I ever pestered my buddy to be my guarantor for my loan for Debbie cause I didnt want my parents to know. I eventually knew some like-minded peeps here whom is more than willing to give me a ride down to see bike and even place my order for 1. The waiting time was 2 weeks for my bike to be prepped. I managed to save up $5K with insurance for my bike. It was a total wait of 8 months. Every single second I would walk past that same bikeshop to look at R15 models. I still recall the song that I always hum to was "Owl City - Enchanted", original by Tylor Swift where Adam Young expresses his profound love via music to Tylor. I was professing to Debbie. Remember I was saying that the ppl here seems to be so high up and unapproachable? I met them all. The first TeamR was formed and I get to meet the dev, whom seemingly so active and knowledgeable here. I was very honored to ride alongside with them for all those roundings, touring to Malaysia, petrol runs, supper runs and random 13-tiang race. Debbie could achieve 400KM before reserve. Debbie goes up to a good 155km/h without slopes. So much so that I travelled to Malacca while Debbie was 3months old and the furthest achieved was Betong. All these were made possible with good commandarie, common objective, riding chemistry and great communication synergy. I recall them crew had a mix of 3 class 2, 5 class2A and 2 class2B. Soon enough a number of us became the 2nd Gen dev for TeamR. It was more than a dream came through. We participated events with SBF, major riding magazines and numerous product launched. All of those couldnt come from the core riding group of ppl with exceptional respect for each other and riding chemistry. So guys, if you have a dream. Ride on. Ride safe. Be humble. Dont lose your head. From time to time I will come in to SBF to re-visit those days I hawk it out on this thread. Learn and ask intelligent questions. Dont expect ppl to spoonfeed you. Why? Cause if you dont have the slightest idea in your mind, how would a place with more than 10contributors help you? Wouldnt it make you more confused? Learn up on the basics (Its irritating when ppl ask about FC to Speed, legal pipe, accessories etc), visit bike shop, ride and experience! You see, you may have an accolade of bikes ever owned or ridden. But if you dont have the slightest concept of riding safety, you dont deserve to be called a rider. Well wishes to all past, present and future riders. Ride on. Cause the horizon you see as a rider is the best you could get out of any land transport. Any. Period.

  14. Depends on where you stay. I guess a V2 OTR now would fetch some 11k onwards. Insurance wise you will only be benefiting from the "loading" that comes with all fresh rider. Guess the diff will only be 150 or so. You really have alot of issues with the bike ah? Replacement can be found at auto machinery. Rowell road, etc. Ride safe man...

  18. Woooooo... that sounds very dangerous. Is there any sign of tears or something on the rubber cap? If it is because of the lever, I guess the wiggling is pretty much fine as it is build someway or another like that. Wear and tear I suppose
  19. Hey people! Hope I can inject some life here (somehow). Anyway I'm looking at buying into a CBR1K 2014 model and was wondering some stuff. 1) ABS model vs Non-ABS model. Just wanna know that for ABS, some people said that the intervention from the system will make the rider feel that there is no feel to the lever when doing hard braking. Is it that for Honda also? Suppose I read that the system is more advance and would like to hear more from rider who actually uses it. 2) Was offered a decent price but my concern is that would it be more tough to maintain a ABS model? I know it would definitely take an extra miles to service something more high-tech but to what extend? Is the technology still new and probe to damage or it's actually quite sustainable now since it's like 5 years into the ABS thing since cbr1000rr 2009. 3) Any kind folks can pm me a shop that actually deals quite ok with big bike like this?
  20. thats your brake switch. It's just this spring thing that activates your brake light... What makes you think it is not tight?
