Varadero 1000 is a beautiful bike but I don't think the kid can handle to FC :cheeky: let alone the road tax & insurance :giddy: . Maybe he should get a Phantom instead. What say you  ?

ehh since he doesn't fool around like me, FC is fine but I think between phantom and his wave, he'll prefer wave instead..since his last phantom was 150 and not 200, he'll stick to 150 for speed..hmm fazer?? r6?? >_

Road tax: $500 (1 year), insurance: $1100 (based on my bro's age since he's the youngest of us both). Varadero 1000's FC is about 12km/liter based on what a bike salesperson told us :giddy: . Which is why I know the guy can't handle it  . I believe the FC for AT is better which is why he is eyeing for that bike.

About the TA150, my dad still has the bike. Very good and comfortable ride. Power is not really a priority for the both us actually (alhough it does help :cheeky: )... hahaha...

my ta200's seat is too short i think, my legs are like too long for them..I'd like to have a much higher ride too >_ considering varadero 125(with style) but they say the power is not there too huh..if not I'll consider a ferring bike. how far can AT go on a litre? haha the TA provides a sofa for our long rides :p

Read from the AT thread here about 21-23km/liter. If you wanna go for scram why not get a WR200. Owned that bike before. It is one of the cheapest maintenance 2B scram. But if you want power then go for KTM, however, maintenance is more demanding than the WR200. You can ask my bro for advise on scrams, man.

Speaking of TA being a comfortable ride, I almost slept while riding my dad's many years back... hahaha...

I fell asleep on my when starting to ride..really made me darn bored on the ride till i used my mp4..without looking at videos of course :p maintenance of wr200?? ktm knowned to get stolen thats one thing i know

Normal servicing (ie. 1 bottle of EO and 1 spark plug) is about 2-3 months once if you don't use the bike off-road that is. For off-road use, immediate servicing required due to the excessive revvings of the engine or something like that. Parts are cheaper compared to KTM as they are Japanese not European. But this could be a drawback for you as you are used to your current ride (4 stroke), WR200 is a 2 stroker thus replenishment of 2T is required (max 1 month) and it's not pre-mix which is the good and convenient part.

Security features of old scram models are quite poor as the prime function of the bikes are used for off-road. Thus, no key ignition required for most KTM models which is why theft on the bike is relatively high. Also, if you noticed most scrams have padlocks locked onto their footrests. These padlocks are used to lock the brake discs to prevent theft. Compare all these to your Phantom, I think you Phantom is more road and user friendly than old model scrams... hahaha....

Hope this helps, man... any doubts you can ask my bro...
