I'm back from my 2 weeks confinement in Tekonggggg. Haha. Woah, now i see alot of new riders in this thread. Not bad ah, next time must organize another outing already. Hope i can make it this time, no last min **** ups. Haha

hi guys.

if a car blocks your way from getting out of the motorcycle lots, what would you do?

 

haha.. i will bang and hit the car b4 i find my way out, either up kerp or anything.. i 100% will dmg the car b4 going away...

 

there way 1 time this idiot car park at bike lot at blk 34 1st lvl... me and my find park very close to the car so he cant come out, he somemore park to the edge.. den took his number plate jus in case our bike drop ^^ but in the end that car dunno how he manage to come out w/o hitting.. sian 1/2 if not can claim new things liao hahahah....

 

back to ur question. i will bang the car 1st...

I like riding during showers, but don't like to dry the raincoat. very cumbersome. Hrr. Love hate relationship with wet weather.

go read up, best to learn before you try. You need discipline to be in one or else it'll suck for everybody..

 

heh i never ride in bike convoy before, only car. but the feeling is quite fun.

Its about the same. Cars need much more discipline and be alert for all to change lanes and guard the lanes for those in front to switch lanes as well.

Just try to move out w/out damaging either vehicle? Then leave a note to driver saying, "pls do not park here next time because I'm not a good artist but others might be "

Got quite a few TWs in school.. I have one friend riding one as well... and then theres the Union Jack TW and one Red and White TW which is freakin nice!

Mm, any recommended readings for learning convoy?

The basic Convoy Group consists of:

 

1. Organiser

His job is to organize, liaison with matters big and small. Things like taking note of each indiviual particular (include their next of kin, incase accident happen), information about emergency numbers (police, hospital, tow service, etc.)

 

2. Pointer / Lead Bike

Pointer will be the 1st bike that lead, usually an experiance rider who 'must' know where to go and when to stop.

 

3. Marker - Usually more than 1

They will be the 2nd,3rd and forth bike close to the Lead bike. During a turn, he will station his bike 'before' the turning point make know to the convoy (main body), until he saw the Sweeper (last bike), then he will proceed to close up with the Pointer again. Usually, it required the best powered bike and a skillful rider to become a Marker.

 

4. Main Body, The Convoy

The happy group of riders, their role is to regulate their travel speed and stay in between the Pointer & Sweeper.

 

5. Sweeper / Last Bike - Accompany by his Buddy

'No one will be left behind' will be his Moto, 1 of the toughest job he got cos when he arrived, most of the convoy had done their 'business' at the resting point and ready to move again!

'buddy' to accompany Sweeper and at the same time, help Sweeper during emergency to inform the front convoy group.

 

Safety Tips during Convoy movement:

 

Convoy of bikes in the order of move: Pointer bike/Lead bike, Marker bikes, Main convoy body and the last Sweeper bike.

 

 

1. Always think Safety First

 

2. Choose a 'Buddy' to accompany you, look out for each other during the ride

 

3. Keep to the left lane at all time

 

4. Do not tail gate!! create space for youself, front and rear

 

6. Ride in zig zag formation if possible when convoy are too close together

 

7. Don't panic if you have lose sight of front bike, go straight (usually the common practice are: there will be 'Marker bike' station before the turning point)

 

8. Do not Overtake Pointer Bike, and not slower than Sweeper Bike

 

9. During raining, go to your nearest cover e.g petrol station

 

10. Any problem, park your bike at the safe spot and call the organiser
