Hey Hilary, what was the pressure you recommended me for my DCs?

My first session was great, but it was cloudy, set a personal best time. 2nd session when the sun came out, after 25minutes, the rear started slipping already, had a big wriggle at turn3 which totally spoiled my confidence afterwards... :sian:

Er, dun say I recommend one leh.....but I read from an article, which suggest DC to be run at 34F and 36R for track and drop the front fork by 2mm from OEM, as per recommended by Pirelli.....these ppl tried out the pressure and reviewed it as the cprrect pressure because it gives the same amount of grip, but without cooking the rubber. For rd, it's the standard 36F, 42R mostly.

Myself, I'm abit kiasu....I used 33F, 35R. So far so good.

Oh...

I set it to 33/36. I wasn't really pushing very hard, but the rear started to give way after 20laps continous laps. I think I should take more breaks.

34/36 it is!

But should I raise or lower the tyre pressure if the track gets hotter?

Posted

Not so sure about this....I normally set my DC 33F/35R and just go.

Its a more street tyres than track use but it still can be thrashed around in track. Trust me, I took my K2 with M1 to PG and came back safe and sound in a piece. Ask Espy... He saw my rubbers...

The M1 can be used in track but just don't go too throttle-happy least risking a rear-slide out. For some serious track sessions, go for the higher range of rubbers like SuperCorsa, Racetech etc...

Does the price include balancing as well?

Anyone using Michelin Power Race ? 120 and 180 rear, what pressures are u using for track ?

I pump 31 in front, 30 behind. I guess it's personal at the end of the day. Best to set your tyres before you move off from home or do it when the tyres are cold. Many people do it at the track, it's not accurate. The pressure is most accurate when the tyres are cold.
