Same here. I heard the engine is notorious but how bad is it? Second hand markets for these machines are relatively affordable. Very tempting. Just afraid it will... You know... Break apart.

other than monstrous fuel consumption any other areas prone to failure?

Been using Tuono for more than 2 years, didn't give much problems. I guess riders here have bad impression on continental bike(except ducati and bmw,marketing?) becos of unfamiliar and sometimes rumour. I get 13 or 14km/liter. Of course it's still not a good fc but u dont buy Aprilia for its fc. It is not very easy to ride also, requires certain level of skill. But the excitement it gives is irreplaceable by "more economic" brands in my opinion.

I heard the aftersales service is not very good too, I believe this is the main killer

should be the parts waiting time that kills. but nothing cant be done if you are willing to order parts online. might even be cheaper

If u r looking for good fc and low maintenance cost then u may not want to consider Aprilia, Ducati etc
