Actually hor I rode home from town to Bt Batok that nite without realising the rear tyre was half flat. With pillion some more!

But I suspected something was wrong lah cos the bike seemed heavier and the steering was off when turning. So I thought the prob was with the front tyre or steering column. Checked them, couldn't find anything wrong, so continued to ride home at 70-80km/h. Haha, well, been riding for 10 mths only so dunno much abt these kinda stuff :cheeky: Will go to Universal on Wed to check, I thought to myself.

Next afternoon, rode to West Mall. When parking, a biker next to me pointed out the flat tyre to me. Wah piang eh! No wonder lah.

Rode to Esso station next to BBDC in 2nd gear, 20-30km/h, with hazard lights n all, to pump air. Unable to, so checked tyre and found metal piece embedded in it.

Called Bikebulance to send my bike to whichever nearest motortiam that's open ($35). But the Bikebulance fella managed to fix my tyre on the spot at no extra charge.

Moral of the story:

Class 3 lessons at BBDC - abt $2K

2B lessons - abt $700

Lessons OTR - priceless

For everything else, there's always BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

hi guys...

my name is agung, im indonesian...ive read some of your review bout pulsar 180...im planning to buy this motorcycle sometime around this month...bout theres some doubt concerning this motorcycle. becoz bajaj is a new player in motorcycle industry in indonesia (they introduce bajaj bout march 2007) many indonesian asking bout their aftersales and spareparts condition...how is bajaj in singapore? what common problem does pulsar 180 have?does anybody here had bajaj for a year or more...if so, hows the condition of their pulsar 180 now, is there any problem?is the FC is still hold on?

pardon me if i ask to much question...i just need to know the comparison between bajaj and other motorcycle company...in here yamaha leads the market and honda make it on two....

for now i still using my yamaha scorpio z, its 225cc, the FC sucks...im planing to get marry soon, so im looking for more economical bike :p and bajaj represent all ive been dreamed in a motorcycle...looking forward for your input about pulsar 180..tenkyu in advance

full throtlle for pulsarian..

regards,

Hi Roadrunner,

What is the Bikebulance no for us to use in case of emergency..?

Hi all,

I feel my rear tyre is wobbling and slippery when I brake. At rainy time, i feel slippery even if I just slow down. Is it due to bad tyre? or bad allignment?

I feel very vulnerable to fall

Hi Agung,

Welcome to our Bajaj Pulsar thread.

The aftersales and spare part support for Bajaj in S'pore is good. But it may not be the same for Indonesia as it depends on the authorised distributor there.

The current model of Pulsar sold here is the UG3 that comes with digital console. I'm riding the previous version of the Pulsar for 10 mths now. So far no major problems. Only problems for me are: (1) Sometimes I stall the engine even when the neutral gear indicator lights up (2) Sometimes I end up in neutral gear when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear (3) Sometimes I can't engaged 1st gear from neutral gear. But these are minor problems that happen once in a while.

The Pulsar's biggest selling point is its low fuel consumption. DON"T buy it if you're looking for power or speed. I get at least 40km per litre of Shell 98-octane petrol, with my usual cruising speed of 80km/h, without pillion. I'm using fatter-than-stock Bridgestone tyres. If using stock MRF tyres, should be able to get 45-50km per litre. That's very economical considering the dry weight of 140kg of the Pulsar. Other bikes with similar fuel consumption in S'pore are not as big/heavy.

Of course, Bajaj is not as established or renowned as Yamaha or Honda. In S'pore, the Pulsar even costs more than some made-in-Thailand Yamahas and Hondas. But for me, I've no regrets.

thanks a bunch for your explanation bout pulsar :) i realy appreciate it. in here bajaj offer lower price than honda or yamaha in male sport bike (in indonesia the male sport bike class is range from 125 to 250cc, kinda left behind with other country which consider our class as starter class) with such low price (16,5 million rupiah)u got plenty of feature in bajaj pulsar 180 compare to other bike...just for comparison; honda offer a bike with the same feature and nearly the same cc (it called honda tiger with 198cc,very popular in indonesia)but without the digital console and the neat wolf eye lamp :p with the tag price of 22,5 million...

i think im going to sale my scorpio z n get my new bajaj...wish me luck on sellin my yamaha :p thanks alot guys!

If ur Pulsar suffers technical / mechanical breakdown during office hours, better to call Universal directly as they do provide breakdown recovery services.

Head Office 62782029 / 62727056

Service Centre 62789928

For other prob that any motorshop can tend to, or during outside office hours, call Bikebulance at 64255333 / 96880928

hey guys. just changed the k&n airfilter. thx lancified for getting us the filter.

went dwn to universal. at 1st they are reluctant to change it for me. saying that they are the distributer and watever so shldnt change for us. so guys if any of u wanna ZENG yur bike, you can forgetabt goin there.

for the performance wise, pickup is way better. but experience the speed stuck at 60-70. after a while and opening the throttle speed goes up again. but i think means more fuel to go higher speed??

i think maybe is the tuning wise. anibody got lobang for tuning for our bike??

And the sound is woooo.... esp after 6k rpm. can go deaf

Yesterday i went to Universal- Changed the rear tyre to BT39 and spark plug. But my bike sound & vibration is too much. Feels like 80km/hr while riding only at 60km/hr. IF I speed up to 80, it feels like 100km/hr - the sound and vibration etc.. Any suggestions to improve this?

What EO do you guys normally use..?

Maxum4 Extra 100% syn Ester base 15W50

-Highly Polarised Ester base formulation

-Superior high-performance fully synthetic motor oil

-Best in anti-shear high temperature engine protection

-Reduces friction and engine temperature

-Maxum4 Extra has overkill levels of antiwear and EP additives, very similar additive package to Maxum4 Ultra

-Lengthens oil life, decreases sludge and neutralizes corrosive combustion byproducts

-Suitable for extended drain programs

-Special detergent and dispersant additives prevent varnish and carbon deposits

-Improves fuel economy

-Smoother shifting

-Exceeds JASO MA (wet clutch), API SG (don't be fooled, later API grades have less antiwear protection!)

-Not just for bikes, for all high performance carbureted, fuel injected, turbocharged and supercharged engines.

-Cross reference for Harley Davidson 20W50 Motor oil Link

Retail Price- S$20.00 per liter bottle

15W50 Extra is the hands down most popular and widely sold Maxima engine oil. The formulation is sufficiently thick and durable enough to maintain smooth and quiet operation in local conditions, delivering silky smooth shifting that clicks effortlessly into gear. The thicker, shear stable ester base resists thinning from transmission shearing and fuel dilution to deliver superior lifespan in harsh short trip city riding conditions. Like Ultra, Maxum 4 Extra is a 12 TBN oil, effectively neutralising harmful acid byproducts for extended periods. Recommended for V-Twin and V4 configuration engines that tend to run hotter with more vibration than inline 4.
