I've just changed to the M7 less than a week ago, but on a class 2 bike. I read up on stock tyres and if you feel that the tyres doesn't make you feel confident then you should change. Bike manufacturers some times cut cost by suggesting cheaper rubber compounds to tyre manufacturers. So the set that you have on the bike new it's new might be slightly different compared to similar model ones that you buy from the shop. As for lowering the tyre pressure, you should stick to the recommended tyre pressure the bike recommends because it will alter the bike's handling.

Ok. back to the M7. Wet weather handling is alright just keep away from white lines. You'll need a spanking if you were to go aggressive on any tyre in the rain.

Compare this to the Bridgestone S20, I prefer the S20. The wax coating does not need a long time to scrub off which is an added plus. In the dry, street legal speed performance wise is pretty similar.

Oh.. yah.. Buy what you can afford. Tyres from named brands offer sufficient grip. Check out youtube reviews. It will help you in your decisions.

M7 is a good tire, but the Sportec M series are designed for road and some track use, and as a result, have shorter lifespan compared to road or touring tyres.

Many tyres from major makers have good traction. I did some research recently and any of these will be good for regular use in wet weather and occasional touring: Pirelli Angel GT, Diablo Rosso II, Metzeler Z8, M5, Michelin Pilot Power, Pilot Road 2,3,4. These are those that I looked at, and I'm sure there are many more. They all have their pros and cons: longevity vs traction, track use vs road use, single compound vs dual compound, etc. Up to you to decide which factor is important. All of them have good traction on wet roads (though obviously not identical).

My personal picks were the Angel GT, Z8, Pilot Roads 3/4, which all have a good combination of traction and mileage.

Price is a concern, because some of these tyres are damn expensive, up to $400+ for a set of front and back. I finally chose the Z8 from Unique Motorsports during their new year promotion (till 31 Jan 2016) at $235 for class 2A.

Lim Ah Boy also has lots of cheap and good tyres. They were offering Rosso II for $200 including installation (for Class 2A), which is a insanely good price.

currently using stock tyres for pulsar 200ns. super slippery so i need to get new ones.. anybody can recommend? is Metzeler Sportec M7 recommended?

yup Ah Boy give insanely good price but the installation process sucks...I was so happy when I bought a set for a superb price for an s4 from him around 8 years ago n they use the crowbar type of tools to take out the tires. End up my front rim was bent n kept loosing air....had to send to raceworks for firing to bend back the rim for a sum of money.....

If you do buy from Ah Boy ...take the tires and send it to a shop you know install with the proper tools....cheers

I ride at 70km/hr only...please please dont blow2 at me or overtake me dangerously....wait i change into Incredible Hulk n dont know why my little baby bike will always be ahead of u if u do that
