Hey guys, just wanna relate an experience I had today and maybe get your views. No rights or wrongs here.

Story:

I went to Shop A today to get a quotation on tyres, spocket and chain change. Why Shop A? Cos I was told by fellow riders that this shop can bargain if you know how to do it. So I tought I try my luck. Went there and asked one of the Salesman, who asked me to ask the mechanic as he only deals with Sales of bikes, not parts. Fair enuff. The mechanic quoted me "200+ for chain/spocket and 400+ for tyres". In my mind, $99 difference with the PLUSSES. But I remembered about the bargaining part. Before I could get further clarification, the mechanic dissappeared, doing some work on other bikes I assume as the place was packed today.

So I thought, never mind, since I'm not in a hurry, maybe recce other shops first. Then I headed to Shop B. Reason, had good experience buying things there. Before I could step into the shop, one of the mechanic already greeted me warmly and asked me if there is anything I am looking for. Explained to him just like in Shop A and was quoted slightly higher price. Then in the midst of talking, I was offered a packet drink by one of the staff. Wah!! Not bad. Was told by the mechanic who served me, "Never do anything also never mind. drink on the house Boss". I thank him and told him that I was in no hurry to get the items. He assured me that its ok. Just get back to him when I decide to get the items.

So what I am trying to say, what matters most to you? In the ideal world, of course we want good service and good pricing. But If you had to choose one?

For me, I am thinking of going back to Shop B cos I feel welcomed there. Just my thoughts. Whats yours?
