am i right to say dat most of the touring bike do not need the HID???

for my bike... default light can already blind the car in front of me... that is y during jam... most of the car will make way for me to move through them...

Seem powerful  but that might not mean that the brightness is ok.. it might also mean that your angle might be wrong (i.e. too high liao)

The best way to test is to go dim roads... see how far your light can shine... better still if you go with another bike that installed HID... you will appreciate HID almost immediately.

Anyway... I do not in believe in having the "best" light, or the "brightest" light... I am a strong believer of "enough light" :cheeky:

Your light beam is directed at the car infront of U - tt is not right it should be direct downwards towards the roads. Do adjust yr light beam !!!

Your current stock light beam (Halogen) may not provide U, wif all weather visibility similar to HIDs - HIDs light beam are like " star wars light sabre " in fog like conditions. eg, Top of Genting Highlands at night.

Boh lah... never vanished lah... difficult to hide also becos I am too fat liao.

I am back in Shanghai since 19th Mar 2006. The work here piled up when I was not around so I was spending lesser time in SBF. :cheeky:

Anyway, I will have good news for potential HID owners soon... the factory shall be moulding ballast with longer cables (up to 1 metre) so it will suitable for use in the bikes... price shall increase a bit but not very substantial...

You might not need to spent the money to upgrade from Toyota to Ferrari lah... maybe just to a Mercedes... but on this case, the performance level is most probably very close to Ferrari liao

PS: I think you had already seen it in action on a diversion, hope you are impressed

I also want Crystal gold color! :D

Hi Mr Neo, u got any plans to install the yellow HIDs? wana take a look how's the effect & performance at nite. Cos yellow is good, white lights although look stylo & bright but after sometime will get very tiring for the eyes especially on long trips along the NSHW.

By the way, can the yellow HIDs be interchangabl with the white HIDs tat Mr Limbat is selling

Yes, in fact, I had the first batch of "yellow" HID bulbs, around 3700K, which is about the same color as most halogen lamps.

However, the resultant color wasn't good. Both bulbs gave different shades of yellow with different "contaminants", one was alright, another had a pukish green cast... :giddy:

What you see on the ground is different from what you see as a rider.

I keep emphasising this. How bright a headlamp appears has almost no link to its performance. A $2 flashlight can look glaring or very dim, depending on where you point it. If a headlight looks blindingly bright, chances are all that light is wasted, spread everywhere instead of where you WANT it, on the ground.

And where on the ground? Right infront of you? 10m ahead? 50? This is another story for another day :thumb:

:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Right on.....man ....... problem is not wif HIDs system - it is the headlamp casings tt direct the light beam direction. Pinpoint light beam(projector type) or multi-direction(Bulb & some Halogen type) light beam is cause by the refletors in their respective lamp casing. HIDs onli provide U wif a powerful all weather condition light beam of 4,000 lumen at 35watts. Where the beam go - is the job of the lamp casing. OEM installed HIDs include HID compatible lamp casing as well, tt is the reason they are more expensive...

Hi josean, wana check with u, for ur silverwing which i saw tat day, is it just strictly plug & play onto the H4 bulb on ur bike. Meaning to say just replace the high beams with the HIDs
