Usually is 1000km, but can kiasu and do extra one at 300-500km. Try to use mineral oil first. Only change to fully synthetic at 1000km or later.

Seriously, who ever heard of - Aiyah! My engine spoil because i did not run-in / break-in engine properly???

 

Anyone here reading this ended up with a spoil engine because he or she didn't run-in properly???

 

Don't know anything about run-in maybe a good thing.

 

Keep to rpm limit may just be dangerous on the road in Singapore. Oh i need to over take, aiyah already 5000rpm cannot overtake this car that's jamming the brake all the time, better keep behind this brake jamming car so that i don't exceed the 5000rpm run-in limit. Save the engine but risk banging into the car. Either way you end up hurting yourself or the scoot but hey, at least you saved the engine from over revving! Wow cool! Now I just have to change some of my arm and leg and some scooter fairing and the engine is good to go.

hello guys. i just bought a 2nd hand vxr gilera 08. still new in this. need alot of help

 

1. sometime my coolant water leak but just abit. what is the problem? isit safe to ride?

 

2. how often must wash my carb and air filter?

 

3. normal service is at what km and what are the things to change?

 

4. for full service is at 10000 to 15000km right? and what things must be change during full service?

I did a hard run-in 2 years ago.

 

Warm up fully. Go for hard ride. Full throttle full speed - done. Collect bike and finish run-in on same day.

 

Is that consider run-in?

 

After that ride normally for everyday until today.

 

Why i say no need because if you see the way i run-in like thrashing. Full throttle and exceed the run-in rpm and the engine still run well and have good fuel consumption so where is the wear then?

 

Anyway how can 1 tell if the engine is not run-in/break-in properly?

 

Manual will say to run-in/break-in properly to ensure the longevity and reliability of the engine.

 

If don't run-in/break-in properly the engine will not last???

 

Coming back to the question, what or how will an engine be like that is not run-in properly?

 

It's a controversy issue.

Need to check where the coolant is leaking from... it is safe to ride but depends on the temperature of your bike.

 

the carburetor should be serviced every 6000km and air filter to be cleanse and rinse every 12,000km

 

normal servicing should be done every 3000km and requires the replacement of oil filter, engine oil and spark plug

 

that's pretty much about it and u are certainly right about the intervals for the full servicing.

Electric Smart Pump extra features;

i think physically different only. seems like there r quite a few models for runner. 05 vxr200, 06 vxr200, RST200 n ST200.

 

i just got my 05 vxr200, the bike seems a little high for me n my petite GF. i had to tip toe when i let my feet down. then my GF got to straighten her legs in order to rest her feet on the foot rest.

 

i m looking for original tail light, mirror n small box. anyone selling just sms me at 97412069
