hi guys,

just met wit a minor accident, or i dont call it accident. a MY car reverse and hit my front. no need for the details. i didnt ask for any $$ since its just a minor one. i checked the wheels, rock it side to side. nothing loose or watever. but when i ride. the front end is like bumpy, like riding off road. haha. what could be the problem? hope its cheap to repair it.

thanks!

have you checked whether the rim is dented?

try putting it on mainstand and spin the front wheel.

then use soapy water just to check your tire for any air escaping.

imo.. might be tire inner tube became an uneven round shape.

changing tubes would be around 12 bucks only.

but if rims, better ask someone to buy for you in jb.

are you using spokes?

your spokes might be 'bengkok'.

you can try ah boy. i forgot how much was it.

i think your tube has become abnormal shaped.

go to your mech and have it checked.

rather than buying new rims since you say its still normal.

for the soapy sponge can..

make sure its watery but not too bubbly till you cant see any leaks.

apply section by section.

oh btw.

use mainstand.

what bike ?

cld be steering cone bearings(rock ur bike forward n backward while u r straddling on it. listen for unusual creaking sound or exccessive movements)

cld be fork oil leak(check the shiny part of ur fork n see if got oily deposite)

cld be rim out of shape eg. oval (spin wheel n visual check while on main stand)

if inner tube deformed n wanna check for leaks u'll have to remove the inner tube n check as per motorkel mentioned(using soap water) but not on the tyre itself.

1 more possibility is both fork is out of alingment causing a wobbly motion.

hope this helps... good luck.

for CONE BEARINGS

- waddle while on the bike, like a duck. haha.

sorry but thts how it looks like.

then listen whether theres sound coming from your steering area.

cause your bearing is located under the huge nut in the centre in

between your handles.

try turning it with your handles left and right while moving.

remember. listen.

i really think tht your tube has been deformed.

by re-enacting the minor accident you explained above in my head,

the rear of the car shouldve hit your tyre hard enough affect the

tube but not the rim. plus youre using sport rim. much more durable.

i might be wrong though but i advise you to find a mech to

remove your tyre and check your tube.

at the most you pay 2 bucks for checking it.

dont forget to update us :)

eh bro motorkel. then i go to mech ask them to open my tyre check the tube. then later they ask wat for. i say i accident? then they say not tube la other things bla bla. then they never check tube then they do someting else then chop me. how? hehehe.

Posted

then you go find some other reputable shop and mech.

dont say accident to the current mech youre going to.

some shops like to chop once they hear the word 'accident'.

just say you wanna check the tube cause its shaky and wobbly.

make up a story tht you or your friend were testing the biting point

of your bike, skali throttle too much tht it hit the wall of your parking slot

in the multi story carpark.

you must be firm and just say you wanna check just the tube.

where are you staying bro?

eh...juz wondering. isnt the inner tube made of rubber?

how does it become deformed?

to test the steering cone, juz put the bike on main stand such that front wheel is off the ground. turn the handlebar left and right. it should turn smoothly. if u detect any part not smooth when turning, means time to change steering cone.
