do post some review on the place if you manage to try it out.

Went down on Sunday morning. Got there at 9am and had the whole place to myself for the 1st hour. By the end of the 2nd hour another 4 ppl had joined in but there still wasn't any q. Basically the cable can take up to 8 ppl at a time.

I used the wakeboard and the wakeskate. They won't let you hit the slider or kicker unless you bring your own board (and a helmet) which I don't have.

Great fun and a good full body workout for the weekend. Aching all over now.

:)

Learing to take the corners on a cable ski isn't that hard. They have marker buoys at the ECP one to help you.

Actually boarding behind a boat is certainly better. But waiting for ppl to turn up on time when you've booked a boat sucks. The good thing about this is that you just go down when you want. No waiting, no wasted time.

And it's still a very good workout and you can improve your riding skills with regular sessions.

Going again tomorrow morning at 9am.

hey axxis, any tips for taking jump? i'm kinda stuck there. can't seem to get the air and landing for me depends still very much on luck.

btw..how's wakeskate?? have urge to try it out.

Havent tried the kicker at the cable ski park.

Can only jump the wake behind a boat but haven't been out behind a boat for about two years. Miss it.

Main thing I can say is keep your handle in close to your hip so you don't get pulled off balance. If your takeoff is clean then your landing should be easier. Hard to say without seeing what you're doing wrong and I'm sure your boat driver is better than me at spotting errors.

I'm just an ex wannabe wakeboarder who quit due to injuries. Totally the wrong person to be asking.

hey chris...so the new ski park tat jus open ..do u say like need to know how to play before u can join. As in totally newbie...sounds fun lo. ^^ And hows ur street fighter system on the 929?

Posted

Not really. You can just learn there. Pay the $40 (or $30 on weekdays) for 2 hours and have as many attempts as you need. You could spend quite a bit of time swimming back to shore and walking back to the start point though.

:p

My mechanic hasn't had time to get it fitted (or even send it off to have a copy of the tripple clamp made) yet.

:(

Anyway, enjoying riding my DRZ now.

Just got back. Kiteboarding is kinda like wakeboarding but instead of a boat towing you along you fly a fuggin great big kite and control it yourself.

Didn't even make it to the kicker that round. Tried out the "disc" fell while rotating, it hit me in the head and I ended up with 5 stitches.

All better now and will be going again this weekend.

Last two sessions I've been landing consistently off the kicker. Managed to land a few 180's this time round and some grabbed variations. Ready to try a swtich stance next week or push through for a 360.

Still landing on my head once in a while though.
