I think nothing has changed much lah. For a PI car sales executive, basic is still between $300-$500. Its either you sell or you don't. I think the market is a little better because most of the PI shops that sprung up during the peak times has closed down. Most that are left now are the shops that have been around for quite some time and are quite stable.

 

Unlike the peak times when there was alot of rogue sellers out there who will do anything to sell a car and earn their comission.

Normally, for cars below 1600cc, they will get about $500. Above 1800cc will get $800-1k. High performance cars...I'm not too sure.

I saw an ad from Cold storage also making the same mistake. It's a common mistake made by laymen.

 

1.6cc cars are probably remote controlled ones and probably costs only $500 for the entire toy.

imo, wana go into cartrade, do try to get into AD...dun go the PI route, very hard for someone from PI to jump over ADs..

True but AD requires higher qualifications. Minimum diploma. Most people who join the PI do not have a diploma.

K guys for SE on car is depand on the company hw much they willing to pay u per car on CAT A/B mean below 1.6/ above 1.6cc............ Some company they pay $200 for CAT A & $300 CAT B ( damn little ) most of them pay $500 for CAT A & $800 for CAT B (alot or standard) on car commission... Basic will b $500 quite standard, and the balance is depand on hw much customer loan.... So if let say for honda fit is $500 (car com)+ loan com= bout 1k...........

 

Some even earn $25k - $30k...... So even drive sport car but is depand on hw gd u sell, hw big is ur company u work n hw gd is ur company selling price n package is, so for SE on car wat i can say is reall depand on market eco n customer.......

As in car salesman for Authorised distributor? C&C, Komoco, Sime Darby all these I assume.

 

How can a N level holder apply into these companies? Can they go through the regular route like responding to online recruitment or they have to know someone before they have any prospective progress?

Hi guys! I just went for an interview for car salesman. I was told basic ranges from $300 ~ $1000. $300 is if you sold 1-2 cars, and if you hit 5 cars and more then it's $1k basic. But I'm not sure how the commission works there. I heard like if you sell above the selling price, eg. $30 price set by company, you sell it off at $32k, the extra $2k will be shared 50-50 with you and the company. My question is, do car sales man need to hit a certain quota to earn commission? Or maybe, say, you only sell 1 car this month you still get to earn that commission from that 1 car for the month? I'm a little confused. 'Coz the guy told me something about commission but only if I hit 5 cars or more or something. Didn't get to ask properly during the interview. Anyone knows?

 

Oh btw how do you guys think about the business at automobile megamart? Good or bad?

Not true. U grad doesn't mean you can make it. Most of the top sales ppl I know are 'o' levels grad.

 

Today's SE are paid peanuts and they have 2 groups of ppl to thank for;

 

(1) Management that cut into their pay and make their cost centre look good

 

(2) customers whom treat them like beggers

 

The big players are already paying peanuts, I won't even mention the rip-offs over at the P.Is & used car dealers.

 

If you ask me, Car Sales Consultants should be on fixed pay and professionally trained.
