Even Apple offers extended warranty on their hardware if parts are defective.

 

Does it take a class action lawsuit to get these mutha fookers at BS to start taking responsibility?

Even if your coil had been replaced, I would suggest to have it checked 1 day before your warranty expires. That is how you can maximize your warranty. Using the volt meter is insufficient, the coil MUST be physically inspected.

 

It gets grilled in "slow cook" mode.

Are the 600 bladers affected by this coil problem. A fren recently bought one.

Whats the composition for the coil material and maybe compare it to bikes of other make. Seems like a widespread problem

hey Tashi, sorry to hear bout ur coil.. am worrying for my now.

 

anyway i've bought the fitch catalyst and i dunno if it's just me but the bike seems to rev smoother now :confused:

Ash, coil is made of usual copper, see pic posted by Chilly sometime back.

 

Not sure if any 600-ers have this problem.

 

Those riding grey imports, insist dealer to physically check the coil before your 3 months is up, don't take no for an answer.

Suspected my battery was going last night when I came home from work.

 

Symtpoms are:

1. When cranking the bike, the green neutral light looks weak.

 

2. I usually crank the bike when the tacho needle hits the highest point, when battery is weak, the needle will go up and down twice, as if there wasn't enough juice to store in memory that the needle already went up and down once, so it does it one more time.

 

This morning, went to work, the above symtpoms persisted, during lunch, went out, still it was there, so decided to detour and went to the bike shop. That was when there wasn't enough juice to crank the engine. What luck. I could be stuck in Pagoh if it happened last week.

 

It was only last week when I wrote to BS. No official reply from them yet ... not surprising.

 

Unofficial reply is that Honda Japan didn't issue any recall, so they can't do anything.

Same symptoms as mine as the neutral lights got dimmer !

At least you still can start your bike trice (after you noticed the symptoms) !

 

It finally happened but after 27-30k........mine 11k gone case !

All our old kakis experienced burnt coil.Hope new owners beware of said symptoms ! :goodluck:

Tashi & ken; I've send my bike to MT for service on the tap pad for the tick tick sound, still have abit when on 2/3 gear but it's softed.

He told me to go back for another service when is 30,000km.(far way to go)

And he also did something to the air going to the exhaust.(sry dont really know wat that for)

This sucks, hello Honda or its aut. Agent to be so quiet on the coil problem,what you guys thinking ! Ya we all know cooper is expensive so may be some clown decided to use recycled copper in the coils to cut cost who knows? Meanwhile The blade owners are going through a waiting game,will I be next ?

Its sad to see such a nice bike not being backed up by its maker,I have supported Honda for a long time and always bought Aut. agents bikes , can't understand the passive responce by Honda to this problem!.

Another coil down... I see... Maybe we all can suggest writing a petition requesting for extended warranty. But all the CB1000-ners better need to sign. Heh.. Just a crazy thot. Well, i'm sleepy anyway... ZZZZZ...

No way, I had it checked with a voltmeter 2 weeks before it got grilled. It's slowly cooked, until one fine day it just decides to give up.

 

Look out for the symtops I described. You should be ok. When it happens, just ride all the way to the shop.

 

Better stock up one coil, in case BS takes 2 months to bring in. That was how long it take for my fairing to arrive.

This pic looks believable. The signal light looks Honda. Just a V neckline in the front to show off the cleavage? Definitlely a lady!

 

Play around with it in Photoshop, you'll notice the on the lower part of the windshield where the Honda logo should be is blacked out.

halo all, i have some problems on my cbr1000rr n i need help/advice from u all

i have jus change my air filter to k&n air filter(air box can't close fully after installed k&n filter)

yesterday nite when i went to clear some carbon

i feel after 180km/h i don't feel much power from the bike :weep:

today went to bikeshop they told me air ratio different already, need pc3

any1 encounter this?

any help or advice from the expert? pls...

wat u mean by not much power?? harder to accelerate?

could be fuel too lean after adding k&n filter (more air flow)

No harm getting a PC3, even a stock bike with PC3 feels better

I think you installed it incorrectly, or the tank cover has not been put back properly.

 

I'm using K&N also, no such problems. Don't have to use PC3 also, your ECU should be able to compensate for that slight increase. Someone must be trying to pull a fast one on you.

 

The K&N should have the same dimensions as the stock filter.

yah, i feel it is harder to accelerate

using stock at that speed, power of the bike still coming in.... :weep:
