I think you installed it incorrectly, or the tank cover has not been put back properly.

I'm using K&N also, no such problems. Don't have to use PC3 also, your ECU should be able to compensate for that slight increase. Someone must be trying to pull a fast one on you.

The K&N should have the same dimensions as the stock filter.

Hi Tachi, when they install the air filter, i notice the right and left side of the airbox unable to close properly(cover don't completely flush with the base),

he tried a few times but cannot n he asked another shop which did alot of cbr1000rr before. Came over and see and say it's like that.....

Your airbox can fit in completely? read on other blade forum that when they use k&n filter need to mod a bit...

by the way where u usually service ur bike?

Sorry for so much question....

Today it happened.

My coil got grilled!

Suspected my battery was going last night when I came home from work.

Symtpoms are:

1. When cranking the bike, the green neutral light looks weak.

2. I usually crank the bike when the tacho needle hits the highest point, when battery is weak, the needle will go up and down twice, as if there wasn't enough juice to store in memory that the needle already went up and down once, so it does it one more time.

This morning, went to work, the above symtpoms persisted, during lunch, went out, still it was there, so decided to detour and went to the bike shop. That was when there wasn't enough juice to crank the engine. What luck. I could be stuck in Pagoh if it happened last week.

It was only last week when I wrote to BS. No official reply from them yet ... not surprising.

Unofficial reply is that Honda Japan didn't issue any recall, so they can't do anything.

welcome to the coil burnt club! dun angry ah, hehehe... ;-)

whats your mileage by the way? it seems ur coil is the longest lasting among us all here at the moment...

do u guys think using voltmeter can trace the cooking copper?

the voltmeter cannot do much to trace the cooking coil. the voltmeter is only useful after the coil is over cooked... hehehe

Anyone knows how much does it cost to tow a bike from sepang back to sg? intend to go to sepang to watch the motogp on my blade. in case the blade coil burns again, *touch wood* i would know how much $$$ i expect to fork out. of couse, another alternative is to have my blade thoroughly checked before i go there.

Probably close to the price of a magnetic coil.

I would buy a magnetic coil now and carry it with me.

It is easy to replace the coil, just remove the left side lower and mid fairing, unplug the connector, remove the left side crankcase cover housing and the coils, which are bolted to the cover, can be replaced. No special tools required, saw him use sockets only. No need to drain the engine oil even!!

How I know? My was changed last weekend at BS, 9 months and 30,000km old. Lucky still under warranty. The mechanic replaced it within one hour to allow me to go to Sepang that same day.

I heard that to tow back a bike from Sepang will cost about RM500. I rather buy the magnetic coil and carry it with me.

Just my dua sen view.

Dunno whther is it because of the coil being too thick?

actually i've seen stock bike with PC3..

u dun have to fix a PC3.. just drop to 5th, rev higher, change to 6th gear

it will b easier to accelerate to higher speed

hi BuZZBeaM, it is jus that i don't feel the power/response there after i change the original air filter to k & n and i don't think dropping gear will solve the problem

suspected to be fuel air ratio different but tashi say is correct also

the ecu should be able to compensate the small change

Currently i always keep my max speed(at 2nd link) around 210Km/h

that's why i feel the difference

thanks

ok forget wat i suggest..

wat i do usually is to rev higher @ 5th gear den change gear..

make it easier for mi to reach higher speed..

at e same rate as stock bike (im using aftermarket slip-on with stock air filter, no PC)

ECU do compensate but how much ? same as stock bike ??

Have to see what kind of goodwill arrangement he comes out with.
