today @ bishan j8 multistorey carpark

 

was behind a merc on the roundabout leading to 2nd floor

upon reaching 2nd floor there was a gap on the left hand side of the merc

i went on the left hand side as there was a gap and merc was slowing down as there was a jam ahead

i went along the left hand side of the merc @ 1st gear speed ar 10km/h

as i went along, both doors on the left opened

the doors slammed into me and i fell to the left with the bike landing on my left leg

my pillon fell as well with abrasions on her leg

i ended up with a bruised ankle and badly bruised and bloodied right pinkie

there was a witness who saw everything and is willing to witness for me

the driver is cooperative as well and given me his particulars

nice guy offered to bring me and my gf to doc which i didn't see the need to trouble him

he asked whether i wanted private settlement or claim his insurance

as i was still in a state of shock and more worried bout my gf's leg did not really think bout it

did a quick check and found scratches on both sides of fairings and right front signal is koyak

in the end as i didn't know how much to ask for we decided to claim his insurance instead and his family left

 

went to see doc and found out my pinkie's nail is dead, would fall off

doc gave me a 1 day mc for my injury

 

now i need you pp advice who have experience in this before

should i ask for private settlement or claim his insurance

if private settlement how much should i ask for?

should i go idac first thing in the morning or ask my workshop advice 1st?

LD, so sorry to hear about your accident.

 

If you want to claim his insurance, you have to send to IDAC for assessment. You may also engage a lawyer to claim for compensation. Both you and your gf are entitled.

 

I think you can offer him a chance to settle privately. Ask him to pay for all the repair costs. On top of that, if you have blood coming out of your body, you can ask for more compesation. Maybe 3k for inconvenience. The tiniest scratch on your bike parts or helmet, have them replaced under his expense. But in the end, the costs for him will be too much, he may just opt to claim against his insurance.

 

If your pipe is damaged, this is your opportunity to change to an aftermarket exhaust.

 

Give him a call and record down the conversation, make sure in the conversation he admits he is at fault, he may change his story later and that's when things turn ugly.

LD,assessed the damaged & asked the moto shop how much ? If he's willing

to pay the sum you quoted privately,go for it.If not,claim his insurance for every

damaged done to you,g/f & bike.Claim for taxi money,lost of income,your

dead nail pinkie finger & make sure there's no internal injuries.

Make sure scrutinised every damaged even if it's minor.

 

Make sure every word he said recorded in black & white so that you won't

get played out.

bro firstly u need to go idac to take pic and stuff.

 

after that you will receive a paper regarding the claim if you can Replace the damage part or Repair the part.

 

following bring the idac report to ur bike shop to handle.

 

one thing* if the other party's insurance agent is like example AIG or whateva.

 

the company will arrange for another photo shoot for ur damage parts. (very muah fan)

 

any way i got the claim The Full Amount, Amounting to $5k within 1mths after my accident from my bike shop, even thou the other party didnt wanted to pay, but i got witness and stuff.

I know a lot of you guys have been wondering what my next ride is. Since I'm no longer getting the bike, I'll just reveal my past secret. I actually booked 1 of the 2 Sennas destined for S'pore.

 

Unfortunately, they can't make it a 1 + 1 like the last Tamburini. This last Tamburini was ordered by the Sultan of Brunei as a 1 + 1. However, this really slowed down the whole production line, so MV will not take special orders anymore.

 

Since a part of the money goes to charity when you purchase a Senna, I managed to convince myself to get one.

 

In 2006, around April to June, the standard F4s will come with radial brakes I was told. There will be a price increase as well. However, the mirrors are not usable and the seats are hard. If they don't change these, I don't think I will ever contemplate on getting an MV ever again.
