Before I fitted KNN filter, my bike can hit 230km before the reserve light come on.

Now I get about 215km before reserve light comes on, with the help of fitch fuel catalyst of course. Otherwise about 200km. I'm consistently using Esso, as it's the smoothest petrol so far. When you're touring, the vibration on the handle bar is lesser.

Fitting the Arrow does not affect the mileage for me.

Chilly, what about you? Any mileage difference after fitting Arrow?

Hi guys,

Need some inputs regarding installation of Stainless Steel Brake Lines. Had a near miss today cos a car jam brake in front of me, i squeeze my brakes very hard and lucky stopped in time.

When you squeeze your brake lever a large part of the force goes into the Rubber lines, and expands them.

This takes away the Total pressure applied to you Caliper Pistons. Thus, you lose stopping Power.

With Stainless Steel Braided Lines, nearly ALL the force goes into the Calipers.

Giving you the most stopping power.

1. Which brand would be recommend?

2. How much and at which shop?

Thanks

I'm getting about 200-220km before reserve light come on (depends on

riding style & distance).

After putting arrow slipon & bmc race air filter,no difference on mileage.

I was quoted $195 for Hel brake lines @ Vector1

with clutch line is $280

By the way i jus change my brake pad to EBC

feel that the braking is better than the stock brake pad

but very ex, cost $180 for whole set :giddy:

I was quoted $280 for HEL brakeline at Vector 1 for the whole set (with clutch line)

$380 for Plot Swageline at Motorworld (with clutch line)

Seems to me the Plot brand is more ex but the quality is different and you can change the the head if it is leaking while others you have to change the whole brakeline

I've tried Blades with upgraded steel brake lines. I couldn't feel the difference from stock. Stock rubber hose doesn't expand much I guess. But this is not to say the stock is better than the steel ones.

I was coming back from KL, and this goods truck without any warning, just swerved to the right lane to overtake another slower vehicle. Very typical on the NS highway. It was at Pagoh. Wonder if that ghost wanted to claim my life.

I was doing about 210, and I braked hard. The road was bumpy, and my specs was vibrating in my helmet, vision was a blur, situation intense. I managed to slow down in time with about 10m between us and not ram into the back of the truck.

Hey, for NY, won't be going down to KL. Shall we have a Blades ride to Malacca in the morning? Should be back by early noon.

LD, Nope havent got my FE yet. Called Motorworld they say they can order for you any kind of FE if or anything you are interested cheaper than you can get yourself just show them the pic and where to get it but not Harris Brand dunno why maybe there are other distributor for Harry products in SG.

Tashi, Thank god youre ok one funny thing abt NS highway is when on a high speed negotiating a bend say bout 180KM/H I always felt that I am going to crash on to the side of the railing very time and on a blade I felt that the road was too bumpy on a high speed as my helmet was shaking and my teeth chattering. Issit bcos of the road surface or my shock settings are wrong? Anyone can comment? My bike is fully stock outta the box nothing done yet except my windscreen changed.

Anyone knows who is the ditributor for Micron pipes and how much. The last time I knew Andrew Morris is carrying it.

LD, I think steel brake lines are not really necessary. Save the money and go to Shangri-La, the Line for buffet. Bring your gf there as well, you might get lucky, heheh.

Eldo, your observation is correct.

Usually on the NS highway, I stick to the right lane, as most heavy vehicles use the left lane, and due to the engine oil spills, the lefts are eaten up and are bumpier than the rights.

However, these days, I feel the right is just as bumpy. I think the highway is due for resurfacing. Some of the stretches are actually being resurfaced.

Its kinda scary leh, I used to be able to ride higher speeds on my 919 blade without such problems on NS highway. Sometimes you just cant judge the distance and speed of the vehicle in front cos your helmet is shaking and vision is blurred. I super duper hate that when I get such things when I ride

Btw Tashi does Ken still have his imitation Micron? How much he selling ah?

Instead of changing pipe, steel brake line, Brembo master pump, PC3 ... why don't you try changing to a pair of BST wheels?

The lightness of it roughly translates to ...

BST shoed bike = stock bike + 25 bhp - 10 Kg

Overseas selling for over S$6000, but Sporting is selling them for S$4,700. Good investment.

"Your bike gains in performance by a simple swap to BST are like those you'd get by both tuning the engine to give 25 bhp of extra power and lightening the frame by 10 Kg!"
