I noticed that most of our bikes coil got burnt around 10k-14k region.

Only Raptor coil burnt at 27k while Tashi around 35k.

Actually my bike shop was going to charge me $370 including labour fee.

I managed to convinced them that my friend was charged for $300.They told me cannot be laahh.....They told me to wait a few mins while they make a few phone

calls. After that they said ok I will give you $300 including labour fee for the coil.

I pushed started my bike to start it.I also pulled the headlights socket to save

energy so that i could reached my bikeshop.I changed coil & battery as both

were damaged. My rectifier got no problem at all after the chief mech checked it.

As Ken teory not to pushed start bike as this will damaged the rectifier is still a

question mark to me

Tashi as for the bike won't be charging if the bike is just in idling position,I

believed it.The bike will only be charging around 2500 rpm& above. The motif of warming up is to get all ur parts in the engine to properly lubricate before moving

off so as not to damage ur parts (friction).Same as human, when ur having sex

women will produce their natural lubricant so that ur 'piston' can penetrate easily

for easier 'pumping' action. If they didn't produce their own lubricant, that means

ur not arousing them well enough but there's always KY !!!

You must ride ur bike to get it charge not just by starting & idling it as in warming up for a few mins.Start, ride & whack her hard !!!

Every organisation is like a tree full of monkeys.Ones at the top can only see monkeys below them and ones at the bottom see only a**holes above them.

Great! I just purchased a walking time bomb... :giddy:

Tashi - You seem to have VIP status with BS

Heh, no la. I summarize in 1 word, diplomacy.

Dirt, the bike was moved from Mah's to BS this morning. BS wanted to check the bike themselves. Even the Parts Manager who was on leave called me to explain the situation. Mah was making calls on my behalf to talk to their GM, Mr. Sim to settle the case.

All the mechs were preparing to leave for the day as it's NY Eve. But Andy asked them to stay a bit to fix my coil. Even he has to respect the mech, because 1 of them has been there for 45 years.

If yours is a parallel bike, it will not be covered under warranty. But they should still fix your bike under normal cost and cover that spare part.

Chilly, according to Andy, all Honda bikes should charge at idle, except for CG125 or CB125 which I can't really remember. In fact before my original coil got BBQ-ed, it was tested with a voltmeter. It was charging when idling. If not, something must be wrong. You sound sex starved? What's happening dude?

I forgot to mention 1 unsung hero, the Mac guy at BS. Poor guy, bought some 2nd hand tires from Raptor. Wanted to save money. He put 2 tires on his pillion seat, secured them with a rope, but while riding, the rope came loose, got caught in the chain. Lucky for him it didn't lock the rear wheel. The chain got dislodged, and the O rings flew everywhere. Instead of saving money, he had to pay a bit more for towing fee and to buy a new chain. :faint:

At that time, I was already enjoying tom yam soup with Cosmos.

The moral of the story? AT, next time when I ask you to come makan, don't detour and go fix tires.

My burnt at 30,000 km, the night before my trip up to Sepang.

Had to go to BS on that Saturday morning and they replaced it in one hour and I rode up to Sepang with AT and Rommel.

My bike is now 45,000 km old.

Tashi, i didn't change my rectifier.

Only Coil and Battery.

Push start shouldn't damaged anything since motogp bikes are push started.

Mine's BBQ at 24,000km.

Guys - i've got this intermitent problem which arose after changing the coil.

this only happens just after starting bike but not always.

after moving off and changing to 2nd gear, the engine will kind of like die off and the oil light will light up, within a split second the engine will come up again.

any idea what's wrong here?

Probably your bike was not re-assembled properly after the coil change. Where did you get it done?

Did you change your battery? Maybe it’s not connected properly, there may be oxides covering the battery connectors. It happened on my 954. But once they were cleaned, there wasn’t any problem.

Your bike may have died off, because of the forward momentum, it automatically jump started itself.

Thanks Tashi!

I suspected it should be related to the coil change but don't understand how it's related.

It was done at Planet, will be paying them a visit tomolo.

Batt was ok so didn't change, but they did take it out to test so cannot rule out the oxide theory you highlighted.

Care to explain what is jump start? Nvr encountered this before the coil change...

Jump start is when you jump on your bike from a 2 storey building. The impact startles your bike and it automatically runs.

I actually meant push started itself.

Jump start is when your batt's dead, using another vehicle, you attach the jumper cables from that vehicle to yours to start the vehicle.
