Hey Tashi, got anymore of the Fitch thingy?? I need one for my DRZ aka the Biawak Hitam. Understand they come in a pack of 2, if so, I will buy a pack then.

PS - On the DRZ, I really look like I am riding on a monitor lizard in my siggy.

I went in yesterday too @ 8.30pm.On the way after gp esso saw road block on the opposite rd.Try to went in by bandarnusajaya but the rd was closed & a few tp blocking the rd.As i ride further down noticed saying the rd at bandarnusajaya closed as there was a drag race going on.Did not speed on the way back to sg as i knew there's rd block ahead. After the rd block at bandarnusajaya, there's another rd block ahead but this time the tp's checking every vehicle plate # before letting go.The same goes after the m'sian immigration.I think there's an operation going on last night.

Apparently I got a speeding ticket from 2004. I told them, sorry, that's not mine. The ticket describes the machine as a 250-499cc bike. They were very nice and polite officers.

Rapper, they dun come in packs anymore, but boxes. So you can get 1 piece if you want. However, it is important that you know how to tell the difference between a new one and a used one, in case they fish it out of some old bike and try to sell you one. Used ones are slightly brownish compared to fresh pelltets, and used one have slightly worn off sides due to all the rubbing.

How many do you want?

I think your arms open too wide, you still look like you're frying noodles to me. :cheeky:

In that case, one will do. You going to get it for me then I collect from you?

Can't help it when I have long arms... and it is not safe to straighten your arms in a corner, got to try and hug the tank and keep the body low with the bike.

Can you imagine me doing that? Takes alot of practice, give me one year.

Riding the SM is a totally different style to the CBR1000. I find that I am entering the corners of PG at almost the same speed and kneesliding.

This can only mean that I am either riding the DRZ real fast or riding that CBR1000 too slow.

OK, will get for you.

LD, according to our resident chemist Ash, catalyst doesn't get consumed. I don't know if there are other factors that will cause it to lose its effectiveness over time. Dull silver should be ok.

how do u guys actually execute the powerslide ? is it u quickly downshift and brake into a corner or ... u jam the rear brake causing it to slide ?

Very simple, just downshift one gear too many... the back will lock up if you don't have a slipper clutch or if you did not blip the throttle enough.

Engine will over rev and rear wheel will slow down too much resulting in a rear slide which is controllable if you are ready for it. Done that many times on the track, and if you close the throttle completely.... be ready for a lowside (back wheel sliding away) if you have not started countersteering.

Sometimes the front is the one that will give way coz of all the weight transfer to the front tyre due to the sudden slowing down in the corner, also another form of low side.

Sad part is, if the back wheel slows down enough to suddenly gain traction, be prepared for a high side coz the bike is going to throw you off like a bucking bull.

Trust me... your family jewels will be at your throat. I am speaking from experience.

Been there, done that and lived to tell.

It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that!"

so u mean that when u downshift a few gears, the RPM will over rev and thus the rear wheel would spin faster than the front, causing it to slide ?

Haiz... tell you what.

Find an empty road, ride at 80KMH on top gear, pull in the clutch, downshift all the way to 2nd gear as quickly as you can, let go the clutch. Bike rearwheel will start to lock up and slide like crazy.

Then repeat the same process, but this time try to turn the steering when the sliding starts. Avoid sudden movements or else you will be lying on the road.

I will not be responsible if you crash or kill yourself in the process of learning how to slide the bike into a corner.

Powersliding the bike out of the corner...... that is a different thing altogether.

hehe ok relax laa. I'm not holding u responsibility if anything happens. Chill.. hehe, Just wanna know how u guys execute the slide especially on a motard. Nicky Hayden does it also on his RCV... looks stylo but i don't think that would be a fast way round the circuit

So far i only get the feeling of the rear end sliding left to right when downshifting a few notch plus braking at end of front straight PG. Syiok la but it'd be better if have more control over it... :cheeky:

I think it's a Termignoni. It doesn't look straight. Fortunately that's not my pipe. Heh.

I drove to Hatyai once. On those roads, you can't be zooming pass the cars at the usual cruising speeds. They cut lanes without warning. That's how they drive. Do not expect road etiquette like in ... M'sia. Sorry, I think S'pore drivers have no road etiquette, although with the courtesy driving campaign, it's slowly changing. I gave way many times, I can only remember there were 2 instances where the recipients wave their hands in thanks. Before the courtesy campaign, no one did.

I'm over 1000km on the Ultra already, still feels smooth. It's worth a try. It's totally different from the Extra, and I do mean totally different.

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forum/index....=32318&st=19320

I was riding behind this guy when it happened. Yes, the frame cracked at 2 places. Futhermore the damage seems not so bad at first sight. fork and rims seem ok. some guyfrom a bikeshop in samui said that it was possible to import a second hand frame from japan and build the whole bike up. Any expert opinion here? Dun think can recover too much from insurance as the max liability of the drivers insurance is 200k bath (8k S$). so far insurance refuse to accept claim anyway. Bike got some lovely spare parts also (pipe, PC, tankbag). maybe can dismantle whole bike and sell parts. Really a waste!
