You must have a gram calibrated shifting foot!

I do! 3 Fireblades since 2003, I am very intune with the Blade. :cheeky:

I'm gonna have my wire mesh in gold. With gold Marchesini, will my blade look like a Tamburini?

-veCreep, correct, 675 it is. No wonder it looks so familiar. I just can't seem to point out.

Mah is the local dealer for Triumph. I've seen the 675, RocketIII, and a few modern classics there.

They also sent Thunder to UK for courses earlier this year. He's a Goldwing and Triumph expert now.

Depending on mileage and condition, should be around 16 to 17+.

Thanks for those who responded. Some guy helped Max push the bike after it died coming downhill just after SG customs. We didn't ride down to KL together as he left SG quite late.

4 bikes went up yesterday. It was a fantastic ride. The recent new highway up to Fraser's is beautiful, perfect for our bikes. Up down left right, like a endless circuit for you to play corners. It made our Sat night's play at Andrew's Corner looked downright silly, pathetic, amateurish and desperate.

It was a cool morning ride, you can have your favourite jacket on and it didn't feel the least bit warm.

These are the 2 other bikes that came up.

The souped up K5 has BSTs, full Yoshi and a lot of carbon fibre bits. Rated at 182 bhp at the wheel (wow), but mapped down to 179 bhp cos it was running lean at full power.

Suddenly my 162 bhp seemed very little.

Yep, it belongs a nice gentleman Arend, who spares no cash when doing up his bike.

This is the bottom of the hill. What is missing from this pic is a ZX10R. It looks like a 2006 J litre bike shootout picture.

If you could see the look on Max's face, he wished the R1 had a nice big pillion seat so Shirley would come up with him. Heh.

Here Agustina discusses the finer details of pillion riding.

Some gf/wife would refuse to sit at the back, some would sulk after riding long hours, throw tantrums after riding through rain. But after going through all the above and show enthusiasm to get up early in the morning for another ride is truly amazing. I am almost in tears as I type this. What a wonderful pillion I have.

Noticed how you cannot see the tankslapper? All nice gleam & sheen in the front, no "panty" lines.

Unfortunately the 2 pieces on the tank got ripped off by the wind during the trip back. The fuel vapour caused some bits to come loose slightly, and the wind just ripped them right off above 200.

I never understood why Max kept bugging me to go up to Fraser's with him.

I didn't understand the disappointment in my friend's face when he couldn't drive up with us in his MX5 due to work commitments.

And for the next few weeks or so, you guys will never understand why I have this perpetual smile on my face.

I have no idea. I'll ask him next time I see him.

9 more km to go before we get into Fraser's. It rained earlier that morning. The roads were damp, lots of leaves and twigs on the road. The 015 held on very well, fantastic tyres.

On the way down, I discovered 2 nails in the rear tyre. In fact, I had 3 nails. 2 of them went deep enough to puncture the tyre. It was a good thing I left them intact, otherwise the tyre would've deflated.

Why is it the rear tyre always get nailed and not the front?

this is what i think happens.

1. the front tyre goes over the nail, which was lying on its side before u came along.

2. the impact causes it to "dance", with its sharp end pointed at some random angle.

3. ur rear tyre comes along n strikes the nail...

just a theory. all my punctures were in the rear, too.

I think better send to MT or BS to look at it. BS has helped to diagnosed this on my 04 before, so they should know. Look for the Stink.

yea, rear tyres always seem to be the ones to get puncture. My take on this is that the nail, unless standing straight up, will have a hard time penetrating the tyre carcass. The front wheel is just rolling along and just rolls across the nail without sufficient energy to make it pierce the carcass. The rear tyre is the driving tyre, putting out alot of torque through the contact patch. If it comes across a nail, the tyre breaks traction slightly, the resulting force from the spin drives the nail in like it is going through butter.

Posted

How about the front tyre picks up the nail (the rubber is so grippy anyway) and flings it backwards like a dart?

The last pic from my camera. The mist reminds me of Silent Hill.

Hi Guys,

Was alerted to this post by Tashi.

Colour scheme is based on the '05 Japan Domestic SBK Series bike ridden by Atsushi Watanabe for Team Yoshimura Japan, as in these two pics:

I could not, of course, get an exact likeness of my bike in the next pic (nor did I want to, as mine does double duty as a streetbike):
