Once BS gets their coils, they will sell them to the dealers.

 

Since they know the 1st gen coils have problems, if the next coil they sell you is defective, you can demand a new coil from them FOC, if not, sue them.

 

However, there is nothing to stop the dealers from sourcing coils from outside other than from BS, so BS is using that as an excuse. If you can't trace the coil that you bought from another dealer back to BS, BS will not warrant you that FOC replacement.

 

Coils are not serialized, so there's no way to trace back. The moral of the story is, if you can't get coils from BS, don't get them elsewhere. You have no choice unless that dealer has concrete proof that their coil came from BS.

The Stink says the new Blade dynoed locally has 6bhp more than the previous model, thus giving 157bhp. Since Ken got 151bhp on the 04. 157bhp is also consistent with the figures on the May issue of Superbike mag, which is 157.6bhp.

 

The K6 also was dynoed at 161bhp locally, the same figure was also indicated on the Superbike mag.

 

151bhp (04 & 05 models) and 157bhp (06 model) are very accurate figures to baseline with.

 

So whatever mods you put, isn't it nice to know how much bhp more you're getting out of those mods. Some people don't believe in sharing.

Tashi: Wah... I didnt notice that part... I think I overlooked it. Sorry man.... Anyway my dyno wasnt fantastic, it was done in the hot afternoon and only managed 138hp, torque was 71. There was another one that did the dyno in the morning, his clocked 142hp.

Unity's dyno probably not calibrated or well oiled, it's well known.

 

That ticking sound is still a mystery. There are many theories, but CCT is defineitly not it. Some say using a thicker EO will stop it.

 

An mech tech article I read says use a thinner oil. It may be caused by the oil pump working too hard to move the oil around during cold starts if a thick oil is used, and may disappear after warm up. Sometimes after engine is warmed, the ticking sound is still there.

 

So it's back to square one, it's a mystery. Whatever it is, it's normal.

Geez... MT busy today can't do the dyno today.

 

Sorry Tashi, my mandarin vocab limited can't really get the info from MT. What i think he said is ECU has a limited setting for tuning compared to PC3. However, ECU tuning is sufficient for slip ons. Lastly, i forgot to ask whether 06 can use ECU tuning.

 

Noticed bubbles on my new paintwork today... very dissapointed with Yeow Motor. Will pay them a visit this evening when the boss is in. Let's see their service recovery.

How many mths of usage coz i got quoted below $1200 new.1 thing to note that even with the baffle taken out it is not so loud.Cbrmichael installed on his bike but not even 1 mth,he sold it off.He then bought Arrow.If any of you guys really interested in the pipe,try to negotiate for the price.

spoke to the boss

 

tried to shift the blame to my exhaust questioned him why does it only affect me and not others and why my old paintwork had no problem?

 

analyzed maybe the paint had not dried and settled completely

 

in the end he agreed to redo the paint job. 3 weeks without my baby again

I was at BS to see the Stink, got a nice rare Alpinestar HRC T-shirt at Mah, got a BMC filter at MotoWorld, and checked with MT on HRC tuning.

 

BMC filter price went up to $200, after haggling, managed to get $180. Race and street filters same price. I got the last street filter, only 1 race filter left.

 

06 Blades can also do direct tuning. Asked me to go back on Monday. But I'll run in my BMC filters for a week 1st and do next Sat. Book with him already.

 

He said PC3 waste money, slipon can use HRC software.

 

Anybody else wants to come next Sat for HRC tuning? Recommended if you've got aftermarket pipe and air filter.

 

Anybody wants a 2nd hand original Honda filter for $80? Looks clean still.

i bought the pc3 cos i've heard wonders of what it can do to ya bike and it was at a bargain.

Well, my Mandarin wasn't perfect either. The bits and pieces I could remember are:

 

ECU tuning, direct, bi jiao hao, bu yong PC3, waste money.

 

I told him I have a slipon, and will be putting on BMC.

 

If I say anything more than the above, I would probably be making things up.

 

I actually delivered a package from the Stink to him. That seemed to have put me in the "same gang" club, and he seemed to be truthful about what he had said. Dang, I must be making this up.

A gentle remind that MAX rear tyre almost wear out (shd b 10% left) ...shd hav change new ...

Saw Tweety and her "fred" also.

 

I took the center lane. Tweety and Max were there before me, but I cleared the customs before them. Probably 15 to 20 mins I think.

 

Had a chance to sit on his R1. There's a constant gush of warm air from the engine shooting towards me. Pillion seat is also not as comfy as the Blade. This is not to say the R1 is not a good bike. But the Blade is probably more street and pillion friendly.
