LISTEN UP HONDA JAPAN!

MY BIKE WAS REGISTERED IN EARLY SEPTEMBER 2005. UPON 8MTHS OF USAGE WITH 21,000KM ON IT. MY COIL WAS BURNT. THE DAMAGED ALSO AFFECTED MY RECTIFIED AS WELL AS MY BATTERY. SO BLOODY INCONVENIENTLY I HAD TO REPLACE THIS PARTS! WHAT MORE ON A FIRST HAND-BRAND NEW,ONLY 8 MTH OLD HONDA CBR1000RR05. WHAT THE ****ED IS THAT!!!! IS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE A ****ING JOKE?????????

I HAD MY COIL REPLACED INSTEAD WITH A "RECOILED" PART, WHICH IS OF A HIGHER RESISTANCE AND OF PRODUCT QUALITY MATERIAL, AS COMPARED TO YOUR ORIGINAL MATERIAL USED ON THE CBR1000RR COIL.

I DID NOT PURCHASE THE SAME COIL, AS I KNOW THAT IT WOULD MAKE NO BLOODY ****ING DIFFERENCE!! AS ALL MY FRIENDS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME COIL PROBLEM AGAIN AND AGAIN! DO YOU KNOW THAT IT IS A BLOODY ****ING PROBLEM????

SO FAR, IVE BEEN USING THIS RECOIL FOR THE LAST 5 MTHS. AND IF THIS COIL GETS BURNT YET AGAIN.

THAT WILL BE LAST HONDA VEHICLE THAT I AM GOING TO RIDE OR DRIVE. IM BYCOTTING HONDA FOREVER!!!!! AND THAT WILL DEFINATELY GO A LONG WAY, BECAUSE MY FAMILY MEMBERS, RELATIVES, FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS ARE AWARE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM TOO!

**** YOU HONDA JAPAN

WHAT THE **** YOU GUYS ARE DOING!

DONT BE SURPRISED THAT I WILL BE PUBLISHED THIS ISSUE ON THE NEWS TOO. NO ****ING RECALL ON THIS FAULTY COIL! IM WRITING TO THE SINGAPORE GOVERNMENT AS IT POSES A SAFETY HAZARD AND ENDANGER PEOPLE'S LIVES. WE HAVE FAMILIES TO SUPPORT YOU KNOW! ANYTHING HAPPENS TO US ON THE ROADS, WHO IS GOING TO SUPPORT OUR FAMILY!

YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN TOO ****ING IGNORANT AND TAKING DAMN ****ING LONG INTO LOOKING INTO THIS SMALL MATTER.

AND I DONT CARE IF I GET BANNED IN THIS FORUM OR THREAD! I WANT TO MAKE MY INTENTIONS AND STATEMENT VERY VERY CLEAR! THAT I AM REALLY ****ING PISSED OFF AND BLOODY ANGRY!!!

this is 1 pissed Honda customer...

Hi there

I got my CBR 1000 RR 04 Model on March 2005 and have 2 magnetic coil problem at 7km millege and also on 15km millege costing me more than SGD600 in total to replace it. Since my 2nd coil was burnt, I am always very sceptical to riding my bike fearing when it would be burnt again. I have the full intention to change to another brand of bike for my next bike change if there is another coil problem on my bike. For your consideration.

Regards

Ronald

One very unhappy honda customer.

Edwin, how's the GSX compared to the 600RR and 1000RR? Since you've had all 3 bikes on the track, you should be able to give some good reviews.

I hope the frame don't crack on you.

CBR600RR03 - Good bike for pple who want to start playing track as it is quite easy to ride as Honda is famous for making it bike for handling. Good brakes

CBR1000RR04 - A wonderful track bike but have to mod it heavily to make it perform and if you want to race it. same as it small brother, have very impressive brakes.

GSXR600K7 - A very nice bike to ride on the track and on the road as it has a very neutral riding posture and very nimble. not very impressed with the brake even with my brembo pump and steel braided hose. most probably due to the rotor.

I have not regret of moving to Suzuki as Honda still insist on not putting all the performance part on their new bikes and little changes/ update to their new model.

All above are my personnel reviews and I might be wrong. :cheeky:

Andy from BS called me today. Affected users pls call the number below and provide your vehicle/chassis/engine number and contact details. He will build a case and submit to Honda Japan.

Honda Japan however hasn't responded to my queries.

1. Since Honda Japan is aware of the coil issue, why is there no recall yet?

2. If Honda is not sure whether the magnetic flywheel is causing the problem, why has Honda issued a directive to have the flywheel replaced?

I am guessing this is another one of their ploys to enrich themselves again at your expense.

It seems they do not care. Here's the guy I was corresponding to. Write to him and let him know how unhappy you are. I am guessing he won't give a dang.

Of course, we shouldn't subscribe his email to pr0n sites or spam lists if he doesn't reply. That is not nice.

What a shame that Honda chose to ignore this. Guess now we can only count on Andy.

I just got this from 1000RR.net. It confirms my suspicion, flywheel not solving the problem.

LD and Rommel, both of you have just been screwed ... royally by some directive from Japan. It's a money making directive, not problem solving directive.

Thats some bull man I have the stator problem on my 04 its been threw 6 stator 2 flywheels and one regulator from Honda on warranty all within 16k miles. So your 06 is having the same problem how many miles do you have on it? Because thats mainly why i havent traded mine in for an 06 because I was hearing that they were burning stators too. But the guy from japan knows Nothin ABOUT IT?

I dunno, just give a call, BS may be happy just to collect the information. The chassis number and all will tell where the bikes come from, that is useful information for them.

You will need to find out who the parallel importer is. That importer is required by law to fix the issue. Of course, they won't have a solution since Honda Japan doesn't have one. But being a parallel importer, since they purchase a lot of bikes, they would have some negotiating power with Honda.

Why don't you find out from your dealer who the parallel importer is, then have to the parallel importer put pressure on the guys in Japan.

Rommel - yes we've been robbed... $800++ hurts

Has anybody written to the email and got a reply?

Dear Honda Corporation,

I'm not a unfortunate owner of any CBR1000RR. But it hurts to see these unfortunate things happening to a Honda bike. I also ride a Honda( Super 4 VTEC). For many people concerned, especially to the people whose riding the bike concerned, Honda stands for reliability and good bikes.

At the moment, I'm actually thinking of buying a CBR1000rr, but seeing all these complaints unfolding, make me rethink about it. What I'm trying to convey is that, you guys at Honda is not only making many people regret about buying this particular bike. You are also turning away many potential customers ( me included) by the way you guys handle this matter, which in turn means monetory loss.. Please think about it!!!,

P.S. Pls don't forget that there are 3 more japanese companies, not to mention the European ones, who make bikes as good as yours.

Ride safe, or else urs will be the one I'm looking at, at work!!!!

Cosmos's coil just burn today. Chilly's one looks like it's gonna burn any moment, can see the symptoms.

LD, thanks for help today.

Lameboy, I'm riding 06.

Instead of calling the BS # to provide the engine, chassis # and contact info, pls write in to this email.

The Fireblade is really a very fantastic bike. Those that have ridden the RCV says the Blade handles just like it, only the RCV has more power of course. It's unfortunate that it's plagued by this coil issue and that Honda hasn't come up with a solution yet.

I forsee the 07 Blades will have this problem as well.

My advise is to stay off the Fireblade until Honda announces a solution.

LD, you wrote in?

Lameboy83 - welcome to the bladers' club. it's a good bike, just let down by the stator.

Tashi - don't mention it, who can reject you :cheeky:

I haven't had the time to call BS or write to Honda, really busy these few days. Will try to find some time soon to get all these done.

Anybody reads FastBikes? They have a legal section where readers can write to them for free advise and they are good and honest in their replys. No, not the writers who reply. But by a lawyer biker :) Maybe we can write to him on this issue. I'm sure Honda won't mind the extra publicity if it does get published.

Hi all for wish to consider riding CBR1000RR, it is still a good bike, just the magnetic coil problem, it would cause disruption of course whenever bike is spoilt.

There are still people who only ride Hondas, there is a reason that is so.

Guys don't be so negative, CBR 1000RR year 06 model from my recollection, only Tashi's bike got burned coil, it is usually year 04 to 05 model who got such problems.

If yours is year 06 model and have such problem, pls post in this thread. From my own opinion, it must because of the heat causing all these problem but there is no reason why Honda is unable to resolve this problem.
