For Power Abuser, you could contact the distributer himself at 98560389. His workshop is a depot road.

Well, for the brakelines, dont seemed to noticed any promotions abt that yet. However, its best if you survey and go down to the shops to get the best deals. i got mine back then for $180 for 3 brakelines (2+1). Wanted to do the clutch too, but apparently many say that the difference may not be that significant, and i was rushing for time, so didnt do it. :(

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that!"

10pm closing time for all petrol stations

KUALA LUMPUR: The 3,200 petrol stations nationwide, including those along highways, will close at 10pm and open at 7am, with or without the approval of the Government.

This was decided at the annual delegates conference of the Petrol Dealers Association of Malaysia (PDAM) here yesterday.

Frequent armed robberies, increased security costs, higher wages for workers, low night sales, soaring rentals and electricity bills were cited as the key reasons for this decision.

The dealers also want customers who use credit cards to buy petrol to fork out the 1% commission, previously absorbed by the dealers.

The associationÂ’s acting president, Major (Rtd) Wahid Bidin, said the decision was likely to go into effect in two months.

“Last year, every petrol station was robbed at least once,” he said.

In addition, the average collection of only about RM1,000 daily after 10pm did not make it worth their while, he added.

“We just cannot afford to open late,” he said, adding that the Government would be informed of the decision soon.

The delegates also resolved that all petrol pumps would be self-serviced in view of the difficulty in getting workers at affordable wages.

PDAMÂ’s vice-president Datuk Zulkifli Mokti said they could close the petrol stations without informing the Government.

Federation of Malaysia Consumers Association chief executive T. Indrani said that petrol stations should not be allowed to close early because “the dealers are making profits and, if they were losing, they would not be in business.''

“They should not inconvenience their customers by closing early.

“If they are truly making losses, they should show their income and expense statements to prove that they are making losses,” she said.

Dave wanted me to let you guys know his friend successfully got his PI bike's coil replaced by Mah under warranty. His friend went to LTA, and LTA traced the bike's chassis # back to Mah as the importer.

I'm not surprised, I already told you guys how to do this the last time.

He was so excited, he insisted that I stop my conference call and listen to his story. :cheeky:

Sleep well and rejoice!

CBR 1000 RR coil recall....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To cut the long story short, here is a summary of what happened over the weekend to my CBR1000RR.

Model: CBR1000RR

Year of Manufacture: 05 (yes, the 05 model which has the coil problem)

26/07/07: Problem started-headlights failed, battery weak, and couldnt start bike after riding home for abt 30mins. Tried restarting but no chance. Was advised by fellow forumer (the guy who sold me the bike) to call LTA/Boon Siew the next day.

27/07/07: Called Boon Siew in the morning-they checked their database that my bike is not from them-hence they would not replace it. Was advised to call LTA with regards to new ruling governing manufacturer recalling problematic coils. Spoke to an LTA officer (Andy Choo) who took down my chassis and contact number. Within 10 mins, he called back and told me that my bike is brought in by Mah Pte Ltd and asked me to get them to replace my coil as per ruling. He even gave me Mah's number and told me to call him if i encounter any issues.

I called Mah, told them the issue and that LTA has advised me that the importer has to be responsible for the replacement. They took my chassis number to check against their record and agreed to the replacement. They even arrange for pick up of my bike at my convenient time.

28/07/07: Tow truck collected my bike in morning, and i was left with no ride for the weekend.

30/07/07 - 31/07/07: After 2 days, called Mah and bike is not ready yet. They are awaiting new coil from supplier. The wait was the only sad part of this experience.

01/08/07: Called Mah and was told that my bike would be ready by end of day. However couldnt collect as i was working.

02/08/07: Went down to Mah in morning. They have replaced the coil, and flywheel at no cost. The only cost was $37.45 for the towing. Honda gives 7 years warranty after they replace the coil and i asked Mah if they would give it. They said yes, and if anything happen to go back to them. So i left the place a happy man, back to my ride that I was missing so much over the weekend.

Summary:

1. Get LTA to help you for the coil recall program.

2. Agent of PI is responsible for your coil recall program.

Hope my experience will benefit all you riders out there.

You had the performance of a Ferrari when you were on your bike, how to compare now bro? I can fall asleep easily while driving long distance on a car, but hardly on a bike.

No Civic Type R. I have my CB Type R to keep me happy now. :cheeky:

No V4 Blade either, it's gonna be another V4 sportsbike entirely ... I was told. I hope so. Aprilia is coming with one, so should Honda!
