Just checking, any of the bro used the Bazzaz tuning kit for their CBR, especially with the auto mapping device. Therodically with the perfect air fuel ratio, the ride should feel more responsive.

Just checking if the auto tuning device actually gave a inaccurate mapping that cause a worse ride.

Not me, you plan to get it? Sound interesting.

Thinking of it. Might be sharing the auto tuning device with Lancer Evo cause you don't tune your bike eveyday. However I'm anticipating the new power commander 5 as well. Currently PC3 tuning resolution is better than Bazzaz. The only edge bazzaz has over PC3 now, is it capability of controlling all 8 EFI and it auto tuning addon.

PC V should be able to do it as well. Plus it has produced the same auto tuning device for PC V as well. Should be interesting. Thus awaiting for the price war to start. Hahaha...

However I've incurred too much damage to my piggy bank for my CBR. Should be aiming for it somewhere 2nd Q of 2009.

You have to retrain yourself. 1st, you need to forget how to ride. :cheeky:

Leslie Porterfiel, the fastest woman on earth on her CBR1000RR:

This year I also rode a CBR1000 in the production class. It had few modifications because of the limitations for the class. We re-geared it and put a Bazzaz tuner on it, and I was able to get the world record at 192mph! We had very little time to prepare it. I was drilling bolts for safety wire at Bonneville during Speedweek. I had some stiff competition against Rosey Lackey on the MV Agusta, but I ended up with the record.

I believed it the "re-geared" part that makes the difference. By right tuning only helps to fully optimised the current state of the bike. So it takes 2 hands to clap here, Znging and Tuning :cheeky:

Anyway 192mph is like 307kph. If they use GPS to track the speed, that is even faster. The normal bike had a 10% error compared to real speed. Which calculated to be around 330kph on the bike speedo which is impossible as 299 is the max shown.

And CBR being famous not for its top speed, they must have "re-geared" quite a numbers of stuffs. Anyway upz for that lady!!!

Strange, how come you guys remove the upper cowl when doing an oil change? BS removes the bottom cowl, it's pretty quick and easy.

Hi Denver Dino, so far no plans to change rear hugger yet. getting the windshield first coz burn a big hole already after the race fairing. haha...let me know if you have anything brands in mind.

ride safe cheers !!

I have already emailed Hotbodies for the quotation. They quoted me US$ 213 for the rear hugger including oversea courier. So far this brand got the longest length for the hugger compared to other brand. Other totally cannot make it.

Removing is the easy part. However the installation back is the hard part. The problem lies in the connecting part for the 2 side fairings and the bottom cowl. I would say it an over engineering type of connection. It actually require the side fairing to slide in at a tilt angle into the bottom cowl.

If I would to just remove the bottom cowl, during the installation back phase, any wrong move will break the tabs. We had broken the tabs already, lucky it a race fairing.

So upon studying the 1000rr forum thread and looking at all possibility, it is much safer to remove the side fairing instead. However we are using race fairing, maybe it difference from the original fairing.

Hmm, I'm not sure if they break easily, but that's a possibility. Changing oil is not something one needs to do frequently, I'd pay for it and leave it to those guys, if they do break it, they can get me a new set. :cheeky:

But of course, most ppl like to DIY, it's part of the whole experience.

You guys may want to get a block of wood to lift up the lower cowl to the correct height so you can put back the tabs easily.

A block of wood is the most essential tool a DIY enthusiast could have. Most workshops have them. If you want to be a DIY enthusiast, your own workshop cannot be seen without one. LOL.

u guys got any plan to change off the rear hugger?

I like the original small one actually. But I have to put some raceshield below to protect the paintwork.

The race fairing will save you from all the hassle bro. Good choice. I think the Honda design has been like that all along the years.

Usually Tashi's bike will be superstock all along; less only the slip-ons :cheeky:

Whoa, so observant. Have not found a worthy slip-on yet, this time it's really superstock.

Haha, I dun have the wood. Only got a car jack and it has been serving me well all these whiles. But I wouldn't mind having a block of wood as well.

Yup, I like to DIY myself. First of all, I get to know my bike and second of all I save alot of $$ these way.

Nay, it a totally replica of the original fairing except it not original. I do understand the hassle free part of a true race fairing. Used it before. Removal of the fairing is only a few quick release screw away.
