this 2 is wat i got from motoworld, left side is $370 right side is $220.

there is a brand call woodcraft also seems to be better.

as for yoshimura engine saver kit, i got no comment...

You using rizoma now? They made nice design. However I dun think they will protect the lower part of the case well. Just my observant.

But the race shield will turn yellow after some time so i think is unless even the protect is there. Den for that hugger i heard those stupid TP will catch leh...

I like the original small one actually. But I have to put some raceshield below to protect the paintwork.

i dropped my bike before i know...

in my accident, i juz got kiss by a taxi, i hold on until cannot the bike drop to a rest...

the fairing is practically okay, only with 1 small scratch.

the engine is sure being scratch i noe...

this part is very protruding from engine bodies. so in the even of drop. the slider will come into contacts with floor, and due to the protruding, the lowest pivot point will be @ the slider itself instead of the engine casing...

as for yoshimura engine saver kit. good luck if u have put that. cause the screw will damage the casing screw holder causing it to rounded... so in the worst case if it rounded. change the whole casing...

as for woodcraft. it might be the best...

vrooooom, another round, never slow down

Knock'em down in .01 seconds

Let's leave our mark here and disappear to the next group

The loser's left crawling on the ground in a cloud of dust

The wannabes are all talk, They just get in the way so let's ignore'em

We takes off, beyond the street

Only den they'll know!

I'm more interested in whether it can hold up to moving accident, like low slide. I may understand that the slider protrusion provide sufficient coverage when the bike drop. However the slider will still be under the mercy of abrasion during low slide which the slider will become less protrude. And I guess they are using aluminium for the supporting brace which doesn't seems to be a best secondary supporting material as well.

Anyway no company will invest in making sure their stuff hold up to all kind of accident. It makes no business sense for them to actually use a actual bike and test all kind of senario to certified their stuff to be accident proof.

Anyway Rizoma does look tricked :thumb:

But I thought as long stock, is legal? Then really need to see their face when we proof to them it is really stock one.. LTA did approved it right?

i understand what you mean. if u were to been to bike tech 21 and ask sha about slider, he has 2 example of lousy slider and a motivation. i do not know what meterial was used to made up of the slider butbased on review given to me from my 1000rr.net forum friends was that the slider made for rizoma is much more durable... moving low slider for 1/4 miles @ 20 mph and below has been tested by that particular friends of mine... so i am quite confident about it...

The material is called derlin. I think it almost becoming a standard with all slider manufactuer.

okay, if u were to put it this way. then the other slider let say from lim ah boy or the 1 in sha shop (i forget wat is its name) if both were made by derlin, why did this 2 particular brand will "worn off" extreme easily on low side while compare to motivation slider?

i think maybe they have fused some other material in... anyway Rizoma production is CNC out.

That why I say "almost", I never say all. Anyway here is some facts about this material I found on the web.

"Delrin is often marketed and used as a metal substitute. Delrin is a lightweight, low-friction, and wear-resistant thermoplastic with good physical and processing properties and capable of operating in temperatures in excess of 90 degrees celsius (approximately 200 degrees fahrenheit)"

There is a lot of consideration during a accident as well. For example, if A slided more and at a faster speed than B, of course A will wear faster. Or if B were to slide majority of the time on the sand rater than on the paved road while A is the opposite, B will have more wear than A. Or how the weight of the bike actually determine the wear rate as well. Thus the best way to compare a different brand of slider is using the same parameter, eg replicate the EXACT same accident for both sliders. Remember, "almost" all accident is unique.

Of course I never doubt motovation quality, as it does protect all my previous bike to a certain extend during my accidents. What I'm trying to put across is, no bike protection equipment can provide 100% guarantee damage proof to the bike. The manufactuerer can use their engineering know how to design a better slider.

Anyway CNC out doesn't mean it is better. For example I can choose to use a laser cut machine, a milling m/c and a lathe machine machine to produce what a CNC can do also because it is more costly to CNC just a few items. However if there is a huge volume, of course it is cheaper to use CNC machine. Afterall, all this is just a tools to get the end result.

However if you are talking about CNC out from a block of raw material, then it will make a difference as opposed to maybe like using forging or casting. I haven't even touched on the design part.... Man it can go on forever.

Don't worry, I'm not against you or something. I'm sharing my view thats all. After all, the main point is about the ride, isn't it? :thumb:

this 1 i dunno, hope i dun have the chance to prove the slider useful.

While other manufacturers are making bikes that go faster, Honda is making one that stops better?

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/videos/2008/December/dec1608-2009-honda-cbr600rr-technical-analysis-abs-braking/

I supposed it does help average riders like us to stop more efficiently. However price is a concern nowadays. If it is like $100, $200 more, I won't mind getting the ABS version. However it seems like it going for so much more than that.
