hey guys, getting a cbr 1000 soon need to know more about the bike can anyone enlight me? like what's the main thing i have to do after i get the bike etc etc, cause i'm jumping from class 2b to 2 thank for ur help!!!

First day when collecting your bike must carefully go round to see got any scratches or anything damage.

Then second thing is for your run in... This all have to depend yourself to judge liao. Going for a hard or soft run in. If you want soft then you must remain your RPM below 4k...if you choose a hard one...then you dont have to worry just whack the barger.

3rd thing to take care is engine oil. According to Boon Siew oil change methods is first 800km, 2nd 4000km and 3rd is at 8000km. if you dont care about Boon Siew then u go for 1st 500km, 2nd 1500km and 3rd is 3000km...complete. If you want kiasu abit then run until 5000km. About 2000km you can start to whack your bike liao.... cheong ya.....:cheeky:

Last i think is tyre liao. Front 250kpa/ 36psi and rear 290kpa/ 42psi. Try to make it a habit...2 tank petrol pump 1 time tyre.

"éšä»”,è¦åŽ»å—Ž"("Handsome, want to go")?!!! wahahaha....

Hi fellow bladers,

where is the best place to get the CBR1000 2008 model?

Looking at the place that's selling the cheapest. I've checked with Looi's and Mah motor so far, but Mah has no more stock.

And for those who are riding it now. Where did you get yours from?

Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thx in advance.:thumb:

The reason i choose Loois because they finance dont have any early settlement penalty or any fun stuffs. And his CBR is warranty by Boon Siew. So far i asking all around in Bukit Merah bike shop all got this early settlement penalty. Cause my 1st bike kana $500 penalty for early settlement so why choose those problematic shop leh. Some shop their penalty is more even higher. So you take note on this...dont take their word unless everything state in the agreement form.

I keep seeing a new white/black '08 CBR at Bike Production. You may want to ask them. Anyway I got mine from them. But you have to check with them if the one you are getting is the Boon Siew model or not. Cause they mentioned they will bring PI model to curb the increase in price. As for price wise, just to take note, they will quote you based on,

1) 900+ coe bidding price. If increase in coe, you top up, if not they refund you. But judging from recent coe, most likely you'll have to top up.

2) Exclude IU which u have to add in another 150+

3) Exclude the "admin" fee which you have to top up another 400

4) Supposed to be no early settlement but if you sell your bike to another bike shop, somehow they will charge the bike shop some amount, normally 300, which in the end it will pass on to you.

If you wanna buy from them, you got to add in all these costs. Another shop you can try is Everbright. My friend got his CBR there for only 2% interest. But dunno if there is any hidden cost or not. Btw they sell PI model.

RR8's rims are lighter than the previous year models.

Manual says 250f/290r actually, but when the bike is out from shop from the 1st day or even when changing to a new set of tyres, I would put 230f/260r.

One thing to note is that, sometime the air pump from petrol stations not properly calibrated, once I was 30kpa off, imagine pump at 250f/290r, and 280f/320r actually went in. Bike was sliding around. :(

Thx bro.

ya, i had a good chat with Mr Lee...he was complaining abt the high prices for the 2009 stock, and suggested that i get the 2008 before they sell out.

Ya, must get them to put everything down in black and white.

Wah i din know that Bike Production has so many 'layers' to pay ah. Good headsup bro.

Anyway, i think Boon siew bike will be better in case there're any recalls right? Much less hassles.

With these details, you are really making me very GIAN! Siao liao!

Kallang McD or Serene Center McD also can. No KFC for me, very oily, haha.

One of the best kept secret in McCafe is the Himalayan Tea.
