How much does it cost to change battery? If its not battery, what could be e next possible problem? My coil is brand new.

Possibly coil issue, as the RR4 and RR5 is famous for it, but if your bike is an Agent bike, bring back to Boon Siew, if it's a PI bike, bring back to Mah, the extended warranty is 7 years if I remembered correctly. You shouldn't have to fork out to pay for a new coil.

 

Check to see if your battery can still hold charge, if it's ok, then no need to change battery.

 

Original battery should be about $150. I used to get a $50 battery from FJT, it beeps when the charge is low, no problem using it too.

Fellow riders,

 

i got some questions again for my CBR1000RR4! Sorry!!

 

1) Is there a choke for this model? Where is it?

 

2) If there no choke, what do i do if i got problem starting my bike at times(etc. v cold engine)?

 

3) Is the cranking for this bike very soft when starting bike? Or sth is wrong with my bike? Sometimes i got problem starting my bike. Like cranking abit weak. Then have to throttle when i start.

 

Please help me!!!

 

There isn't any choke on the bike.... Nowadays most of the bikes come with auto choke.... So far, i dun believe any one having a problem with cold start with our model....

 

If your cranking is soft and long before it starts, myabe it's time u change your battery...... Should be able to solve your problem.....

 

hi, i'm riding a 04 model and have no problems starting by bike everyday. think its most prob due to the battery cos there was a time i cant start due to weak battery. juz change and it should be fine.

if u haven installed a voltmeter... i can bring u to install also...

impt for 04-05 to check the readings bcoz of the coil problems..

affects ur batt n rect lifespan also...

 

i m using a shinko batt size 10... no prob for my bike.. charging is normal..

though my reading is alil lower than usual, everything is fine... try plucking out ur headlight connectors b4 u start ur bike n warm up.. =)

Hi fellow CBR1000RR riders! Im here again!! I just bought my CBR1000RR '04. But i need some guidance from u all again. SORRY!!

 

1) Will the bike auto switch to reserve tank once the main tank is finish?

2) How much isit full tank(both including and excluding reserve) for this model?

3) How much is the standard fuel consumption?

4) What is the normal bike temperature for this model?

5) Can i install a fuel gauge on this model?

6) Im using yoshi slip-on but e sound is not very solid and loud, any idea how can i make e sound more solid?

I remember my RR5 was recalled by Mah Motor with regard to the coil issue. Have your bike's ID number ready when you are calling up to check. Or can go down personally. (I prefer the latter)

The ID number (or serial number) is just like our IC number. Its the chasis number. On the left hande side of the main frame, just after the steering head, there's a piece of metal plate riveted. You can find the chasis number there.

 

As for the charging part, I'm not very sure. Maybe can check with the other fellow CBR riders in here. Hehehe....

A mechanic from a well known shop once told me,

 

Idling voltage should read around 12.8 to 13v with headlight on and around 14v when riding or when it's rev up to 4 or 6k rpm in neutral..

 

Recently when my rect and coil on my 750 showed some issue, idling was around 11.8 without headlights..

hi bros. m currently waiting to take my class 2 prac. wanna buy a class 2 bike to upgrade. i find cbr 1000rr 05 - 06 the outlook nicer then the newer ones. the pipe under seat looks swell. i would like to ask

- wats the maintenance like? engine oil, spark plug oil filter, air filter. hw abt the fuel injector? need cleaning? cos m using a carburetor bike so wanna know abt fuel injector servicing.

 

- u guys mention boon siew.. hmm so any wear and tear or any thing spoilt go to boon siew? is it better than normal bike repair shop?

 

- there is a guy selling his cbr 1000rr06 at $14k. mileage is ard 35k. is it worth? if only the cbr1000rr 06 has a first hand. m afraid to buy second hand in case theres prob with the bike and no warranty.
