Time for me to chip in.

Honda has provided a 6-year extended warranty for coil issues for RR4 and RR5. The last time I wrote in to BS in 2007, they were in the process of registering the extended warranty information with LTA. See mail below.

I am guessing the 6-year warranty should come after the 1 year warranty, so if the RR4 was originally bought in 2004, add 7 years to that, the coverage should be up to 2011.

The last time when the PI refuse to change the coil on warranty, another long time Blader here called up LTA, and LTA called up the PI to have the coil changed under warranty.

The warranty replaces the coil and the magnetic flywheel, so something to look out for, don't let them shortchange you. Some shops may ask you to change the rectifier and battery as well to recover some costs. If the battery still holds charge, there is no need to change.

Our bikes' rectifier also comes with a regulator. Rectifier to convert AC to DC, and regulator to ensure the flow to the battery doesn't go above certain voltage (14.5 if I remembered correctly), so once the new coil and flywheel goes in, start the bike and check the voltage on the batt, if it doesn't go ridiculously high (again I am guessing 14.5v) the rectifier/regulator is working fine, there is no need to change.

I dun think it belongs to a cbr1000. Looks more like from a gixxer.
If i'm not wrong CBR1000 clutch has the fluid reservoir mount directly on the pump. Seem like in ur pic the reservoir is connected with a hose to the outlet of the pump and the typical yellow high beam switch from a gixxer.

Sure no problem...

U want the stock headers, the stock endcan, the stock mid pipe or the stock full system... all you can have also.. just take what you need.

Dont worry abt the price one... we can work around a comfortable amt for you n me.. not problem with me...

anyway i also need to clear my store room... if you can take the stock system, helps alot coz i still got an arrow system in my store room...

Guys, anybody overhauled their blade before?

cos i was at racewerks just a few moments ago and norman found some knocking sounds from my bike. He suspected that it could be conrod bearings that might be worn out. Hence my bike needs overhaul.

anybody encountered this before? or is there anywhere that i can bring to to seek a 2nd opionion? and also roughly the costing of this?

u buy ah boy carbon fibre lever quite reasonable..

tink 20+ - 30 if not wrong..

for the farrings..

u go any spray workshop also can patch back... ..

the orange they spray might be a lil bit out of the shade..

as its not from the same batch of paint from last time..

if u need a new piece of farring..

i got a piece to sell...

i need help. i'm riding RVF now , 25 months installment paid out of 36months. (25/36). I'm looking to buy a cbr1000cc , preferably the latest model. need to ask roughly how much does the bike go for now and if i trade in my RVF , (left abt 3k but paid 7k already), how much do you guys think the shop would take my RVF for and how much to down for a class 2 bike?

ps: i know this is for CBR fireblade 1000, but if u guys got any idea on the pricing of Yamaha R1'09, pls do let me know as well.

I'm looking to buy a cbr1000cc , preferably the latest model. need to ask roughly how much does the bike go for now and if i trade in my RVF , (left abt 3k but paid 7k already), how much do you guys think the shop would take my RVF for and how much to down for a class 2 bike?

ps: i know this is for CBR fireblade 1000, but if u guys got any idea on the pricing of Yamaha R1'09, pls do let me know as well.

Last update from asphoon today that the new fireblade1 is abt 27 machine exclude insurance. That does not include ur loan interest as well.
