Hi people,

I got my brake caliper serviced and the master cylinder bled.

The brakes are ok, but the thing is I cant see the level in the master cylinder.

Are brake fluid transparent in colour? Cos I tot it is like oil or red.

There's a 'low' level indicator in the cyclinder, but the thing is I dun know

whether is the cylinder entirely filled or is it empty.

When I engage the brakes, it working perfectly.

Can I just open up the cylinder cover and check?

Some brake fluids are clear.

No problem in opening up the cover to check on the fluid level.

Maybe the walls around the inside of your master cylinder cup is dirty? It's a small issue, but of course, you can't see the brake fluid level this way :)

P.S.: Brake fluid is corrosive to paintwork. Use caution when opening and wrap a towel around the master cylinder cup when you uncap it.

Thanks for the replies.

I called the mech today and he say the brake fluid is clear/ transparent. :)

If I want to open up the master cylinder, is there any 'proper' way to do it? Do I have to bleed the brakes again after opening the cylinder? Or jus simply pop open, see the level and close back?

Thanks!

Most of the time no need to re-bleed after opening ur brake cylinder.
