Neway, for reference to the rest of the bros here,

- Just got a new set of Dunlops front & rear for $310

- Insurance renewed for a '97 ACE400: 3rd party @$220 w NTUC (10%NCD + 5% Loyalty)

 

I got mine with NTUC also 10% ncd but no 5% loyalty at 228, how u got the extra 5%?

Upgraded from TA200 to SS400 in 09/2011

Hey guys any one changed thier carbs to larger ones or more powerful ones. Also any information on advancing the ignition timing for more power. I know its a bit pointless to make a cruiser go fast but i love messing around with my bikes. Hoping to get exhaust once inspection is cleared as well pm me if anyone is selling.

Beating a Honda is like banging a fat chick. Everyone can do it but who wants to brag about it....

I just installed a Corbin Solo Seat. Feels great. No more butt pains. Hahaha

Hi All sadly after 2 months i am v bored with my slasher is way too slow for me..... ITs comes wif a new ten yr COE fv plate(9yrs old) pure stock bike and colour..... If not sold might really consider customising.....

Yeah, you need to customize it but that won't make it faster. Just a lot more prettier. :)

I had this solo seat luggage rack fabricated today.

The old rack was modded to mount a GIVI topbox in case I need to take a trip and too lazy to put on the saddlebags.

Have a lot of white smoke coming out fo the exhaust especially so when i dont ride for long. Bike still runs well. White smoke dissapears once bike is fully warmed up. Its not collant. But it did happen when my mech tried to knock the exhaust silencer in for a throatier sound. Fuel consumption is normal.Hope its not valve leaking engine oil although oil levels are normal. Could it be an exhaust leak or a worn gasket? Bike milage is about 50k km. Any advice gurus

Hey man, i have the same "water in carb" feeling on my shadow too, do u mind sharing the damages?

Hi guys, after visiting different bike shops, it's finally fixed.

 

1. Fuel pump was replaced (at planet) to cure the "water in carb feeling". This is because the fuel supply is intermittent.

2. Clutch cable was replaced (at planet) because after adjusting to max, the bike still keep stalling when clutch in on first gear.

3. Wash carb and tune the bike again (at Mah motor, jalan besar). This decision was made after taking out the spark plug and see one of the plug is especially black. Not only at the tip, but the white part also. Tested after the carb wash and tuning, I like it. Now is to go back to service the fork and change out those black spark plugs.

 

Having said so much, I might be riding this bike for another 6 or 9 months. After which will have to let go as I will be overseas for 2 years... 

There is a screw at the bottom of the carb, try draining that first. Remember to use a cloth.

 

The fuel pump cost $200 with labor if I m not wrong.

 

I like the look and feel after it's fixed. Only thing is that when I meddle with the idling, the bike rides weird.

 

The only consolation is that I sold my ACE to a passionate cruiser former who appreciate the bike like me. ;)

hi guys probably off topic here. but when i get my 2A im sure gonna upgrade to a shadow . but hey, how many types of 400cc shadows are there? what are the price and the type? kindly advice.! thanks!

Got to install my Hopnel Tank and Fender bib. Not yet used to seeing the bike without the brown Corbin seat and the solo rack, but It's starting to grow on me.

Got my Heel-Toe Shifter installed too. The floorboards are part of the set. You can't buy the shifter alone. Bummer. I like the Cobra floorboards better.

It took me about 30 minutes to get used to it.
