*seats: I am fine with second hand ones, whenever they are in good conditions. I am also considering bringing it to Eugine Saddler and see the price difference. But I don't want a customized concept, so whatever is cheaper to restore their original look.

 

*air box: yes is the full set, the box and the chrome cover.

 

*saddlebags: I am currently hesitating between these two, any suggestion?

*wheels whitewalls: Sprint74, thank you very much for your suggestions. My tyres are currently in good shape, so I was wondering about making first a test painting them and change to whitewalls tyres when I need to get new ones. But I am very bad doing this stuff myself.. any recommendations about where can I have this done?

Can order online, look for those hotrod whitewalls. One tin can last maybe 2 yrs depending on how often u touch up. U can also try selling ur tyres cheap by changing new tyres and leaving the old ones at ur bike shop and also advertising here. Who knows... tink shadow wheels same size as magna wheels too.

From experience, if shinko had 21" whitewalls, I wldve gotten them instead of painting. It's DIY anyway cos no shop will do. Hahahaha

I don't think there is a "special edition" Shadow ACE.

 

And Hydher is correct. I had the privilege of owning both an ACE 400 and a 750 at the same time. I, too, wanted to swap parts since I was planning to sell the 400 and keeping the 750. The 400 was my first shadow so I really went all out in getting accessories for it. But I didn't want to sell it with the accessories attached so I decided to see what parts I could remove from the 400 and load the 750.

 

There is quite a lot of parts from the 400 that will fit the 750. Body parts like tank, front and rear fenders, handlebars, seats, pegs, brakes, pipes and cables are compatible. But it's a different story when it comes to engine parts.It turned out that not all engine parts are interchangeable. Example: The chrome cylinder head covers I had on the 400 would not fit the 750 so I had to pay for re chroming. I even thought of buying a surplus 750cc engine on eBay to install on the 400cc chassis but found out its too much work and a lot of mod involved.

 

In my signature picture, the tank, fenders and seat of my 750 all came from my ACE 400.

 

What parts did you have in mind to order?

No mike, slasher has double pipes, thin front tyres, steed-looking front end.

This i'm talking about is an actual shadow ACE special edition. Its written on the bike.

There's one always parked at moe carpark. Think it only comes in flat grey colour.

I have a question. My shadow COE ends at 2019. Does that mean I have to tow to the scrapyard for scrap since I am no longer entitled to own a bike? Can I just keep it in the carpark and cover it?

I plan to do a little trial and error servicing of sorts on the shadow after the COE expires e.g perform overhaul of engine, remove and install carburetor, change the brake hoses, handle bars.

I can't do those right cos I only have 1 bike and I need for transportation to/ fro workplace and getting the shop to overhaul will cost me $3K minimum

Coe not renewable? If not must scrap. Unless u deregister and officially scrap it but keep at home. Tink LTA need some documents from shop/scrapyard as proof so must really know wat to do.

Yes, it is the Shadow ace special edition. would like to call it a small edition instead.

1) headlight small like phatom one.

2) tire cover for front and back is smaller n advertise as being sporter...

3) air filter cover is black plastic instead of chrome one.

4) no front fork cover, signal light tie to fork instead of using a bar.

5) back suspension no cover one, spring exposed one n advertise as sporter again...

 

think these are the diff from normal ace.

had change given it a face lift, changes is being done to pt 1,4 n 5.

1) how long u intend to use ur bike

2) if more than 5 yrs, can consider change, else just use as dun affect bike.

3) cost 430 frm FJT, just change it on may 2013 for my case. just plug n play.
