to all engineers out there...

 

What is the possibilities of having IU integrated as part of our helmet? Assuming we got only 1 helmet and many bikes.

benefit is, no ugly device on our bikes.

 

Phone n computer are getting smaller in size.. im sure size is not the problem here..

Size isn't but power supply is. If connect directly to a cigarette lighter power socket, not sure if it's legal and safe.

Actually not a bad idea, from an I.T perspective, you could probably just extract the "reader" part of the I.U instead of the I.U protective casing, and then find a way to let it reach the cashcard, followed by the 'output' to the broadcaster.

 

BUt the "a way" part, i leave it to the engineers, as Johan mentioned, power is going to be a problem, and since your helmet cannot recharge the power, you will probably have to keep changing D, or AA batteries :p

Or bolt on a 9V rechargeable battery into the helmet. You can also use it to power other things like a heads up display, helmet LED lights like Battlestar Galactica (hey, idea!!), etc lol.

 

In that respect someone on this forum has successfully hooked up a 9V (from Sim Lim, with some mods) to an IU, detached the IU and put it in the underseat compartment of I believe, a SuperFour.

I am an engineer, and have alreadymtold this forum if you put the IU under the seat it will not work reliably because the human body is like a big bag of water and water will block radio waves

 

However I do not see a problem using a mobile phone battery, then can charge up the helmet once every few nights. And to put the IU sensor on the helmet is the most optimal place for the radio operation.

 

 

And instead of the cash card, can use a mini-sim, it could operate like a mobile phone, so a bill is sent every month.

haha.. all bcos there was this one fine day.. i wore my cash card inside my helmet.

reached office then realise i din insert my cashcard for the gantries.

If i remember correctly, Motorpay means you have to pay a fee to use the service, on top of the ERP charge! That's why I didn't sign up for it. Otherwise its convenient.

hmm #3/mth ...but still nid to insert cashcard inside rite? still forgetful n forget to take out then people will jus kapok it... i thk i lost abt 5cashcard liao...easily $50+++....
