damn... i would have bought ur bike if my father had agreed to allow me to ride a mito, told me to get another bike, well i got myself a TZM... still i really prefer a mito..

Hi, I'm a new Mito rider here, just purchased my bike abt 2 weeks ago. So far I've experiencing a coil prob which sucks the batt dry most of the time..then gotta push start.. How much does it cost to fix e coil? A mechanic at Excel said it costs 200-280 bucks? Does anyone here encounters this prob?

halo.. it happened to mi in the past too.. hmm.. i changed a water batt den now the prob is gone.. can try getting a new batt..

Erm, actually I've changed the batt frm a wet cell to a dry cell liao cuzseldom use bike. Does a new coil settle the starter prob? Cuz I'm a newbie and not that experienced in these probs. Maybe the more experienced mito riders here can fill me in with more sugessions.

u bought your bike from excel? how much? if its above $800, den i can say u r chopped~

 

this bike is a high rev bike, gotta rev high sometimes to effectively charge the batt~ i used to haf same prob as u~ but prob solved by itself by changing to better batt meant for super4~

No la, bought it from an owner through classified. Not excel, Are they money eating type of workshop? It's juz a few bustops away frm my house so convienent when e bike needs to go there

Excel, hmm, I give them a thumbs down.

 

About your bike's problem, hmm, goto a bikeshop you like, and ask them to try the voltmeter on your bike. They will attach the voltmeter to your battery's terminals, run the engine and rev it, increasing rpm slowly.

 

Numbers should be at least 12V when idling, and should climb higher and higher once the revs are in. At 6000RPM it should already be about 13V-15V. That means your coil is okay, and I don't know what else could be wrong with your battery other than it's got black magic curse or something. hehe.

 

You should also refrain from using full-lights in the day, just use park-lights. Otherwise, make sure you rev-high often (at least 6000RPM).

 

That really goes without saying, coz you need to rev above 8000RPM often to keep a Mito happy and healthy.
