Excel, hmm, I give them a thumbs down.

 

About your bike's problem, hmm, goto a bikeshop you like, and ask them to try the voltmeter on your bike. They will attach the voltmeter to your battery's terminals, run the engine and rev it, increasing rpm slowly.

 

Numbers should be at least 12V when idling, and should climb higher and higher once the revs are in. At 6000RPM it should already be about 13V-15V. That means your coil is okay, and I don't know what else could be wrong with your battery other than it's got black magic curse or something. hehe.

 

You should also refrain from using full-lights in the day, just use park-lights. Otherwise, make sure you rev-high often (at least 6000RPM).

 

That really goes without saying, coz you need to rev above 8000RPM often to keep a Mito happy and healthy.

 

There's a lot of info in this whole thread, dig 'em up!

The excel mechanic told me that the prob is in the coil leh, thus sucking dry the fully charged batt four days later. That means even when i'm not using the bike, the batt is running.. That's like running for 4 days straight until it's dryo_O Oh well I've just have to change the coil itself and see e results.

normally7 faulty rectifier will drain off the batt, and coil u check by revving the bike high and see if the batt got charge using a voltmeter.

 

how much u bought ur bike?

Hmm I don't have a voltmeter at home so i guess i gotta do all these at the workshop. Hmm never heard abt the mechanic toking abt a faulty rectifier? Or he don't even know cuz hes malaysian?. Anyway I bought my bike for ard 700

700 quite okie~ ppl always think the rectifier chatrges the batt~ but its the coil~ voltmeter? hmmz now i thinking if u wan to meet up den i do for u~

Urr... can somebody refresh my memory what the coil is actually for in the first place? why would a coil be using electricity (sucking it out of battery) at all in the first place?

Are you a cagiva internal expert? Its my first bike and i only know the very basic when i lift the fuel tank:giddy: I'm afraid that if i touch anything wrong it'll go wrong:giddy: Haha now bike flat batt cannot start..gotta push:sian:

Err I think the coil got something to do with the electric starteretc?:giddy: Judging from the mechanic i think the coil's got some link to the batt, starter and the electric current.

no lah me not expert~ our bikes all are t he same, be it 5 or 7, starter motor, mag coil, rectifier, these 3 things can be quite problematic~ mag coil charge the bike, rectifier changes the current, but a weak rectifier can drain ur batt~ u wan mito 5 service manual? u got msn i send u~ :cheeky:

Bugger it man. Think I'll leave it for a while then get someone to service it. Very hard to find neutral, time to do oil change. Plus, the end can is really loud. Need earplugs next time ;)
