7k rpm to charge...ok. i will remember this. but that means in most singapore roads will have to ride in 2nd or 3rd gear man...teruk.

i usually ride between 5-6k rpm and with headlights on at low beam. i don't ride too fast. yesterday the battery was really flat until i can slot it inside my letterbox! this morning the volt meter says 12v (like one poster mentioned also) but i didn't wanna start because if it dies again then teruk. i'll start it up when i bring it to the shop. it is now running a dry cell battery.

where do you folks get your wet cell yuasa? the shop i was at didn't have it.

also...how to maintain at 7k rpm? i don't ride the bike often...will this pose a problem?

Hey hey.. Resolution is here. For you to whack till 7rpm - Simple, use either Gear 1 and Gear 2 @ straight Road. Drag till 11rpm can le. haha.. it will likely take 4 seconds overall. (",).

then if u wan to check ur batt, can go excel and check[Recommended by Me - Personal introduction]. Look for Ah Meng. He is able to help you. Say Gerard intro de.. (",)

yup... u can't.... our bike only will charge when ur rpm is at 7.... another words opened valve... that is one good thing... cause it will prevent ur valve from jamming itself from all the 2t n it will charge ur battery also...

Wow, 7k rpm. Really need to wack already.

Will try it out.

i just got my 916 today... lol... when i was riding mito, every gear drag till 11-12k...

today ride the duke, all the way less than 5k... felt so weird... lol...

anyways, dry cell is supposed to charge faster than wet cell.

but sometimes you go to the shop you say you want dry cell, they actually give you maintenance free... which is basically the wet cell just that you cannot top up the water...

i was using yuasa maint free on my mito last time. lasted me many many years... i think its $90++ only... its a good investment...

From then to now...

sorry to add please best is dun wack at 1st gear unless u r racing with others..

u wont wan more wear n tear right..

check for rectifier n magneti coil. when ur bike is running it will start to charge juz tat when u wack till 7 rpm is give more power tat y is more charging.

when bike is running it will not use batt power but from the power which the magneti coil produce same goes to car too..

if u r not riding for long good to remove wire from batt so wont lost must batt on its own..

batt will discharge power on it own when u not using it.. is juz tat it discharge very little tat u dun notice..

same goes to all or any batt.

Go lailai :)

Nice Sols a 916 already :p

Well anyways correct me again if im wrong, mito is a high rpm bike so going at 5-6k rpm might cause some problems ( im not implying you should whack it real hard) it just need some exercise sometimes..

And you can check too at which rpm your rectifier starts charging..

LOL.. Yeah... the word from the King (Lailai85)

He is always my mentor for Mito. hahaha...

anyway back to basic*

Certainly there is a need for you to whack your RPM above 7 because it will be good for your engine in time to come. Remember, Mito is not young. Engine at this stage is @ its Wear and Tear stage. Do take more care with $$ ready wor. LOL..

thanks for the advice about the battery and all that. i haven't had time to do anything with the bike for now (and for the next few days). i will most likely bring it to excel as many have recommended. how to check if rectify and coil is working? when bike is running, the volt meter shows

count me in on the polo shirt...hope it is made of some coolmax/dryfit material and not normal cotton?

btw, what is your number Keng Gerard for towing (in case i need it?). you can pm me or sms me at 98155287. thanks!
