It's great to see this thread. My brother is considering a new Mito, and we are both excited about it. After riding for many years we came back a full circle and get excited about riding a Mito. It's like back to basic and enjoy simple fun riding again. Our realisation: you don't need a rocket like R1 to enjoy riding actually.

OTR price is about $15k.

Actually, what you said is quite true. It actually takes more skill to ride small cc bikes than those monsters, I've even actually read an article about this too.

Why? Because with big bikes, you -always- have a lot of extra power whenever you need it (esp. cornering), while for small cc bikes, you have to be accurate and precise with all your moves to get the best out of a lap. (correct gears, correct powerband, clutch sliding, etc etc...)

But of course, that translates to more work, focus and attention lah, that's why people go for bigger cc bike hehe..

I miss you baby:

That's why i'm gonna keep my mito when i get my 2a, and get a monster 400 for everyday use. The mito will be my plaything/trackday bike.

Anyone got lobang for cylinder block+head? It seems my bike has a deep scratch on the cylinder wall that's causing a compression loss. Leonard at first motor is helping me source a good 2nd hand/scrap bike one but if anyone has any other lobangs lemme know, thanks.

we started with a humble fzr150 twelve years ago....then tzr250...then super4. my bro went on to ride a fireblade 900 when he was in Australia.

Honestly, in singapore, there isn't lots of road to run. so you end up under-working a 750 or 1000. even with the super4, there isn't much to play unless you are not afraid of TP. Imagine a ZX-10 has a 160kph top-speed, if you were to really ride it hard, you may end up in court without shifting to the 2nd gear.

Big bike is fun for malaysia or tracker goers, for our usual city-riding, a 2-stroke 125, should give all the joy of working thru the gears and dragging to redline... and yes, ensuring you are at the right gear for the corner. Mito with its 160-170 kph top spd should suffice, in most cases, you just need the skills and guts.

More importantly, Mito is such a beauty and handles like a dream, I rode my friend's Mito EV 8 years ago and I still remember the joy. I've tried other 2-strokers like NSR250SP and RGV250SP but they are not able to invoke that joy. Italians handling is just fabulous.
