what make u chose moriwaki than other pipe? jus asking.

Bro in all honesty I probably searched and researched high and low for a pipe for a good 3-4 months. At first I was after a slip on as I thought it would be more practical and cheap but after looking at prices for slip ons a carbon LV is AUD850 (If I didn't go for Moriwaki I would have got this), carbon Blue Flame is AUD 500, carbon Yoshi is AUD 750 and so on. They are all slip ons. The price for the full black Moriwaki system is AUD 849. So I thought why should I pay so much for a slip on when I could get the full system for a similar price and at the end of the day it will look better and blend in better with the looks of the bike and probably give more power compared to the slip on.

From my researching both on here, the net and other bikes I have seen in general Blue Flame is considered a boy racer pipe with a sound to match, Yoshi well they are too common and don't sound as good as the MW. LV is a nice pipe and sounds good too. I was after a deep throaty sound on idle and while riding and the Moriwaki does both. In all honesty I don't regret my decision to get the Moriwaki pipe one bit and am looking forward to it. We did a group buy and 4 of us ordered the same pipe. While I was in the shop paying the deposit I also ordered a set of black Moriwaki frame sliders to suit the bike.

good choice. but if i were you, I would have opted for a Sansei Racing full system for Revo. the sound is most solid for super 4 that i ever heard. price is about SGD$900.

Thanks, it's not a bad looking pipe but sounds a bit too racey for my liking. I was after a more throaty sound which the Moriwaki offers. As much as the sound I really like the way the Moriwaki looks and how it finishes at the pillion peg and is very minimal in appearance and weighs little.

just for a note, even thou its powder coated(most likely) black, the headers may still corrode(due to heat) & turn brownish. so do take note for this issue, otherwise, its a good deal, except, like I posted before, you cant fit any mainstand after installing this pipe.

o.. & on a side note, not to pour cold water, IMO, sliders may do more damages.

i.e. (touchwood) Happens that the bike skids or crashed, the impact upon the bike dropping onto either side, the force may just make the bike bounce onto the other side, which in turn... well you understand yah?

I was actually discussing this with Motovation Accessory in private messages as I was enquiring about the pipe with him and he advised that the black isn't suitable for Singapore as he advises below:

------------

"weather it will rusty pretty fast than stainless steel."

Thats why we recommend to sell the stainless steel type instead. Singapore weather is more humid. Unlike Australia has more dry weather compared to singapore.

------------

If after a while the pipe does discolour I will look at getting it ceramic powder coated or look at other options but at this stage they are not worth worrying about for me. I live about 20km inland from sea so there isn't much humidity my way and Melbourne has very little humidity compared to cities like Brisbane & Sydney.

I don't have a mainstand and don't intend on getting one. The sidestand does its job good.

Not to pour cold water where bro? Also are the sliders that bad? What else would you recommend to use as an alternative as I haven't yet confirmed my order for the sliders. Also it seems to be that most bikes in Singapore have engine guards but Australia seem to have sliders.

Hmm, glad MA advises as accordingly.

Maybe the weather over there wont have that much affect(or izzit effect) onto the headers...

O, our local slang, er.. meaning, our way of speaking...

It means not to discourage.

Erm, as for the sliders, it was a personal experience relate from a fellow biker, to which, he swears off it after a horrific crash, thinking the damage was only 1 side until he saw the bike "flipped" to the other side upon impact onto the tarmac & thus, bike's both side was damaged badly...

Well, ya, for our Sg's S4s, I believe the tri-point crashbar would be originated from here. Not sure who invented it thou. But it still does not do its main purposes even for the re-designed Revos type tri-point crashbar. Needless to say the OEM ones.

True fact: When upon impact, the crashbars bears minimum impact & damages will still hit the engine casings, or worse, the crashbars collapse in & damage the engine casings instead altogether.

Do you have any shops over there doing customize stainless steel bending? Otherwise you can try to DIY to save money..

Get some stainless steel bars & fabricate it to something like this:

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4070/4614355506_a675c866e5_o.jpg

sans the rear crashbars as its to protect the rear panniners for these local auxiliary police bikes.

(p.s. these pictures are taken frm the www via google)

The cost of these effective crashbars here: SGD400+/-(incl. installation)

Done by a reknown shop for customizing anything of stainless steel for almost all kinds of bikes: Seng Kwang...

Yes the weather plays a big part as if it was more humid I'd go for the ss over the black.

I understand what you mean now about the water thing as you got me scared and I was thinking what am I not meant to wash it with cold water or something LOL. I love washing my bike and you nearly deprieved me of one of my favourite activities :)

The tri point crashbar isn't too bad but the crash bar on the cop bike is just way too bulky in appearance and though will protect the engine etc from a fall as you say to a certain degree after a while it would become an eye sore as I am trying to go for a minamalist look on the bike.

The frame sliders only cost $140 and I hope none of us have any experiences like your friends and how his bike flipped over.

The bikes I did my learners course on were installed with those crash bars on the cop bike and they seemed to do their job well as learners were constantly dropping their bikes.

Sorry, my bad abt the engrish.. must try to type/speak international standard english.. :p

Hope I didnt kill one of your favourite past times...

Actually, the crashbars aint that bulky, there's another forummer here with the customized cop-styled crashbar. It certainly does it job in terms of a mishap. (& Im saving up to install on mine.. :D)

As for the sliders, I think only those who'd seen it personally(if it happens) would understand...

Well, you said it, for learners... Which sometimes are prone to mishaps in the learning circuits...

the black shorty's headers will turn brownish due to heat, esp the 2nd header from the left. but no worries, a wipe with a wet cloth will restore its blackness. doesnt need to respray.

i have been using the black moriwaki for about 1 1/2yrs and it still looks good.

anyway Kev, any idea what material the black shorty uses?

Sounds good NSRog. I'm a clean freak anyway so I'll regularly clean it to make sure it stays new all times.

Good to hear you have been using it for that long and have no problems with it.

MA advised me in private message the material is as below:

hmm.. thats a good sign.

:btw: hv u kena any scratches on the below mid-pipe there?

mine's quite badly scratched with thanks to the 2nd link customs..

had them exhaust wrapped to the middle mounting point there, to contain the heat & to cover the battle scars... :o

as mine is stainless steel, which i dont think is 100%, the fibre glass wraps jus melts & corrode onto the headers & elsewhere on the pipe.

so thinking, maybe gona remove the pipe, do some major de-rusting & re-coat a layer of anti-rust spray before re-wrapping it again...

hmm.. so many ideals so little time...

well, to my knowledge, there's also other brands having the similiar design, the gp shorty type, in Japan. But so far only this brand has been brought in here to be legalised.

Anyway, would prefer this to any other brands because of its branding, heritage & its collaboration with Yoshimura(if Im nt wrong.)...
