what a shame that they had to close it down...

pos·er (pozr) n.

A Sportbike rider who habitually pretends to be something he is not and only care about how they appear to the public as their bikes are nothing more than props to get them noticed by girls or even teenage boys which they want to impress with fictional tales of all the hardcore riding they do.

The gym was operating at a loss so before it went bankrupt, the owner closed it down. When it just opened in the 4th quarter of 1989, it occupied the whole floor area at the corner 2nd floor, equivalent to the floor area of Shop & Save downstairs. Later, the owner leased half of the floor area to some other company. I was one of the pioneer employees there. Had a lot of great memories working there... :thumb:

Let organise one? Maybe start by saying where you train, I train at Clementi gym most of the time.

I used to trained at the NTUC gym at Toa Payoh West CC. Paid for a year's membership but used it for only 5 months before stopping training altogether due to my slipped disc. Now my membership has expired and not training at any gym. However I do intend to train either at Yishun Stadium ClubFITT or SPANS gym next year...

Hi,

You guys are welcome to use the gym at my place, it is in Bukit Timah. Free as long as I get pointers on how to buff up, hahahaha!

Cardio workouts I am fine, but it is just the damn weights. It just gets so boring sometimes.

Cheers

P.S. Just PM me if you are keen...

You want pointers, just feel free to ask. Our bros here are not stingy with their training knowledge. As for your gym, is it a decent one? One with free weights, multi weight stations, barbells, etc???

There are 2 gyms, one for weight training, with free weights, a multi-purpose weight station, etc.

The other gym, has a step mill, a few threadmills, a few cycling machines, and a rowing machine.

Cheers

Nitro-tech is a high quality protein that definitely deliver results especially when taken with Cell-tech. The bad news is both are rather expensive. EAS Mass Factor is good and delicious. I wouldn't recommend TwinLab cos their protein tastes and looks chalky plus not that soluble unless you use a blender... :giddy:

I use to take twinlab for about 3 years.. but stopped due to other branding came out with cheaper protein. As a Ectomorph am not worried about sugar content, so choose the more budgetable one in the end. Moreover nowadays most competitive company are producing with lesser and lesser sugar content.

Me on the other hand is an Endomorph. However, I too don't mind the sugar content cos I prefer the proteins to be delicious rather than chalky or taste like crap...

The only supplements I have been taking so far is creatine, as for protein I been staying on the natural path, more fish, lean meats, etc.

Thanks for the help guys, anyway, currently training about 4 years already, twice a week at the gym, not hardcore weights stuff, more into long distance running, triathlon kind of stuff, thus explains my thunder thighs! Height is 182cm, weight currently 76kg, wish to stick to current weight, although don't mind getting a little heavier or lighter, since my IPPT standard still safely in the "PASSING" region!

Cheers

You are like me lor. An endomorph. This article explains the body types more clearly...

1. ECTOMORPH

The extreme ectomorph physique is a fragile and delicate one. The bones are light, joints are small and muscles are slight. The limbs are relatively long in proportion and the shoulders droop. The ectomorph is a linear physique. Straight up and straight down, and may appear longer than he or she really is, due to the length of limbs coupled with lack of muscle mass developed on those limbs.

The ectomorph is not naturally powerful and will have to work hard for every ounce of muscle and every bit of strength he or she can gain. The extreme ectomorph may have long fingers, toes and neck are long. A pencil neck you could say. The features of the face are sharp, and the shape of the face is triangular. The lower jaw is somewhat receding. The skin tends to burn easily.

Extreme ectomorphs may suffer from extremes of temperature. Due to the great body area in relation to muscle mass, the ectomorph may suffer from great heat, and due to low body fat, the ectomorph may suffer from great cold. The hair is fine and grows quickly and is sometimes difficult to keep in place.

Ectomorph summary:

Definitive "Hard Gainer"

Delicate Built Body

Flat Chest

Fragile

Lean

Lightly Muscled

Small Shouldered

Takes Longer to Gain Muscle

Thin

2. MESOMORPH

The mesomorph has well-defined muscles and large bones. The torso tapers to a relatively narrow and low waist. The bones and muscles of the head are prominent. Features of the face are clearly defined, such as cheek bones and a square, heavy jaw. The face is long and broad, and is cubicle in shape. Arms and legs are developed and even the digits of the hand are muscled. The skin of the mesomorph is thick and the mesomorph tans well. The hair is heavy in texture.

Mesomorph summary:

Athletic

Hard Body

Hourglass Shaped (Female)

Rectangular Shaped (Male)

Mature Muscle Mass

Muscular Body

Excellent Posture

Gains Muscle Easily

Gains Fat More Easily Than Ectomorphs

Thick Skin

3. ENDOMORPH

The body of the extreme endomorph is round and soft. The physique presents the illusion that much of the mass has been concentrated in the abdominal area. This may or may not be true. The arms and legs of the extreme endomorph are short in length and taper. This may give the appearance of stalkiness.

The hands and feet of the endomorph are comparatively small, and the upper arms and thighs are often more developed than the lower parts of the arms or legs. The body has a high waist. The skin is soft and smooth, and the hair is fine. The head of the endomorph is spherical. The head is large and the face broad.

Endomorph summary:

Soft Body

Underdeveloped Muscles

Round Physique

Weight Loss is Difficult

Gains Muscle Easily Like the Mesomorph.

The endomorphs are at the greatest risk for developing obesity, mesomorphs are at a moderate risk and ectomorphs are at little or no risk.

I started working out when I was 18 years old and working part-time at World Gym. My favourite bodybuilders then was Vince Taylor and Berry De Mey. Now, as long as the guy is huge and symmetrical, I LIKE!!! :lovestruck: This new rising star is a force to watch. Phil Heath... :thumb:
