Hi guys,

need advice on how to price my bike for sale. 2009 may registered midnight star 1300. Comes with Tsukayu Jumbo fibreglass side box, passenger back rest, passenger floor boards, Memphis batwing windshield, Yamaha Engine Guards, Roadhouse Exhaust, Hella Fog Lamps, Hella horn and cobra fi2000 tuner. Some of the chrome add ons have slightly rusted, and leathers slightly torn, will need rewrapping for new look. Appreciate recommendations.. Its been used too infrequently recently, think its a waste to leave it lying around.. just did an overhaul last year and that took me 6 months at Rosli's.. haha

Bro, have you sold your bike?

I have a self-made formula to calculate the selling price but need two pieces of information from you.

1) what is the OMV if you bike? Check your log card.

2) what is the current selling price of a brand new bike, preferably same model?

Don't frame me, my formula is this (+-for accessories and condition and mileage)

First compute the %, which is the number of years used (year 1 = 21, year 2 = 17 etc) :

21, 17, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3.

X is the purchase price of new vehicle today, and Y is 28% of OMV or PARF value, whichever is higher. (PAFF value not applicable for bikes).

Selling price = X - [(X - Y) x %].

Maybe I give one numerical example. If your bike has OMV $8000, and current selling price brand new is $22000, and you used it (2016 - 2009) = 7 years, then % = 21+17+14+12+10+8+6 = 88%

Selling price = $22000 - {0.88x[$22000 - (0.28x8000)]} = $4611.20.
