Hi guys, I recently bought a new FZ150i but will only get my bike next week. haha i know now is the worst time to get a brand new one, but have to lah for my personal reasons.

 

1) Can anyone advise on the running in procedure for this bike? like which KM to change oil etc. and at what speed must I maintain.

 

2) Maintenance wise, other than EO, oil filter and spark plug, what others do i need to take note? I saw somewhere in previous post mentioning about STP- for fuel injection system?

 

3) Tyres. How bad is the stock tyres? any recommendation for tyres? sorry i dont go to Malaysia, so I can't get the highly mentioned and recommended "Maxxis" tyres. Any good and long lasting tyres in Singapore? Also, are the tyres with tube or tubeless..?

 

Hope to learn more from more senior riders on this bike like yourselves!

1) Running in procedure for this bike? Bike New? Wah good. First Run in Ride abt 60 km/h Max till 500km, change mineral Engine oil. 2nd Run in Ride abt 80km/h Max till 500km, throw the oil, change new mineral oil. So total now is 1000km. Then 3rd Run in Ride abt 100km/h Max till 500km, throw the oil, change new mineral oil. Now is 1500km. After this can change Semi-synthetic, Fully synthetic or whatever engine oil u want. Change every 1600km estimation if u're using fully synthetic. When i RUN in time i use AGIP Classic SAE40.

 

2) Maintenance wise

Change EO once it turns rough riding.

Oil filter Every ALTERNATE engine oil change can CHANGE OiL Filter

Spark plug If u using normal plug(NGK CR8E) Change when every engine oil change for optimal performance. If u using Iridium plug then can change every 6 mthly.

What others do i need to take note? When u get the NEW bike, if u want safety i would HIGHLY recommend u to change to Good quality soft compound tubeless tyres. 2 weekly once go and pump your tires for optimum pressure.

 

I saw somewhere in previous post mentioning about STP- for fuel injection system? Well, you don't need this since your bike is very New. Maybe after 2 or 3 years then need la. For now forget it.

Can also la as long as tubeless but have to pay for the tyres. Haha. The sad thing is that Battlax can last me 6 mths only with 7800km only. After that i X Battlax already. Then i change to IRC GOLD WINGS Sport Series. This one not bad. Lasted me 11000km. Wow. Syiok. It lasted 8 mths. Now presently I using IRC Eagle Grip NR73s.

 

In the end you have to decide which tyre u want bro.

Bro, Dunlop tt900 Thailand is it? This one no good la. I last time slip and fall down from my RXZ with this Dunlop tt900 Thailand. It was a painful experience. After that NO MORE Dunlops for me.

Thanks for the very detailed explanation bro... So basically jus keep to the speed u mentioned. and use mineral EO till 1600km

will seriously consider your recommendation for that tyre. any shops to recommed that sells those tyres? i usually frequent bikeworkz or unique motors. both @ kaki bukit.

Dunno about 2nd hand bro.. you should check around diff shop to estimate the price. i bought a new one at almost 8k OTR. so you can take an estimate from there.

dun go more thn 10K rpm...itz bad fr engine's health...140kmh is normal..sumtimes u may get 145mh max or more (stock) ...my bike max 150kmh...150kmh is impossible 2 achieve in spore expressways...NSE can get 150kmh..

abt tyres,i owez use maxxis...vry2 long lasting..d best mileage fr myself(REAR) IS 19K km...my front maxxis still got 30% thread aft 54K km used maybe i hv 2 wait fr my bike 2 clock 75K km 2 change front tyre..
