Hiya guys ...

Would like to know does anyone know where to go to treat the inside of a rusty fuel tank? I understand that it involves removing the rust as well as coating a protective layer after that.

Thanks

Cheers'

What bike's fuel tank is this? o_O

How time flies...

Big is certainly a warning but small can be downright scary! Never underestimate the effectiveness of small.

Fastest/Cheapest/Easiest way is to pour some thick paint into it...

:p :P :p

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

Huh? Won't it clot up the fuel line? o_O

But of course take out the fuel assembly first before you pour the paint in...

Besides replacing the tank, personally i don't think there is any other effective solutions except to keep the tank full at all the time, and probably add an inline filter.

dont think its will work. petrol will melt the paint.

if really tried to pour paint in the fuel tank to restored it, then good luck and prepare to fork out more $$$ for the repairing cost .

A second of precaution is an hour of safety. It never hurts to ask.

ya, add a fuel filter in between the fuel line between the tank and carb

Hi vion,

the best is to get a new fuel tank, those off the shelves stuff might even make it worst, for eg bits and pieces of paint etc..

and once something has started rusting, there is usually not much hope left..

hows ur cbr150? drz on its way soon?

From my experience, motortiams don't always give the best honest advice. If you know of one, do share with the people here.

My experience a mechanic told me, Always keep the tank full when possible. Alternatively, If you really need to get a new tank. Can go to scrapyard & see2 look2. Can get cheap & quality onces there.
