accident involving rental cars

hit a rental car when i was doing lane change, front vechicles slowed down i couldnt stopped in time, my fault. the car right side bottom area had a black mark, probably caused by my footpeg and a round dent by my knees. my bike got no damage.

 

i gave him my ic number, name and bike number after that he went off already. i didnt take down the vehicle number only got his hp number, dam kanchiong 2nd day riding only =(

 

any idea what should i do next? i very blur leh, i dont know what time did the accident happen, and where did it happen also . . i was lost so was wondering around some road, think it happened one some expressway or something, got a huge road shoulder where i stopped there after hitting the car

jey..u must make a report..get hold of the particulars...to your insurance company within 24 hrs....

if u do not report..u are liable for all claims..

u cannot drive off like that with out taking down the vehicle no involved..

 

let me estimate the cost..if the bumpers need to be changed...$1200...easily

+ cost for replacement car..very chialat one..

ride safely i oso near accident ytd when i was doing my right turn. i turning check see no oncoming car le then i move out den got a van horn me. zzzz. oso dunno where he come from one? cos i check no oncoming traffic le den he suddenly behind me very fast. tink he speeding? zzzz. den i horn him back. lol. cos i really HATE those ppl who horn me. i'll kill them if i can and tear their skin apart. ROARRRR!

It is still possible to settle privately with the car rental company. However since you already admitted it your fault, the rental company is more than happy to claim your insurance.

 

Oh ya, normally knocking out of dent is around $100~$120 and spraying around $60~$100. But this is just an rough estimation. Black mark normally can be polished off.

i'm not sure if can private settlement or not (with rented car), but i know its not so expensive...

 

dat time i hit the side of a cabby cos i was one hand pulling out the cashcard (just came out of ERP, if dun take, later forget, sure gana karpo), while the other hand balancing...think bike too fast, in front traffic light turn red, no time to react...cannot balance on one hand, while trying to put the cardcard back into my pocket at the same time trying to stop the bike, (cannot jam brakes, cos one hand jam brake sure fly) so scrap onto the side of the cabby & knock onto another bike infont. the back door dented, his paint also scratch....

 

Joker manz... trying to salvage less den $10 cashcard, end up paying stupid cab's repair.

 

i did a private settlement with him by signing his comfort cab company private settlement form. Set me back by about $280... Prior to dat, i also check with some car repair shop, they say its around this price, to knock back the dent and spray paint back the door...

 

BUT BUT... alternatively, u can do wat 99% of the drivers who knock on to me did... they twist their story and deny its their fault... den dun need to pay lor...

 

sure win win situation, cos NO witness, fight lawsuit also 50-50....

 

dat's wat i learn on the road after being hit sooooooo many times (stil didnt die thou).. Drivers will NEVER admit their mistake, IF there is NO witness... EVEN if their police statement is freaking ridiculous or full of loop hole, TP or police also dun give a damn of u, cos they say NO witness mah, TP, they are practically useless (paper tiger), SO dun expect them to help u....!!!!!

 

so whenever i see those idiotic driver who overtake me without signal, cut my lane abruptly, i will ride to their LEFT side during a traffic junction stop, and purposely whack past their side mirror with my handle bar balancer...

and why hit their LEFT side? cos they got no time & unable to see ur number plate...

oh..by the way..pls DUN try wat i did...its morally wrong...

 

and IF u must, do it at low speed...cos ur handle bar will "rebound" back upon impact with the side mirror, causing ur bike to wobble slightly...

the driver is a nice gentlemen, dont think i will do stuns to him lah haha, but the idac report the pp write like sidingg towards me sia which i dont know its a good thing or not, dont wanna have dispute with the nice gentlemen lah. initially i was really sian, could have ran away but my next natural reaction is to stop at the shoulders and wait 5 mins after he reach over me. already prepared to get vulgarities throw at me liao, ended up is a polite gentlemen who told me "its alright, as long as you dont fall or get injured" oh dear how many pp could say that if a motorist hit their side out of nowhere? but again, its not his car, maybe thats the reason i guess hmm

i got BIG lorry (those with a crane) who reverse into me, and offer me $20, (i insist on at least $350 for paint job) when i refuse, and told him, i will claim his insurrance, he can tell me :" IF u claim my insurrance, i will tell them ITS YOU who bang onto me!!!" WTF... luckily got witness....
