hi i just kena the red light camera at this junction. my fren said that it is a dummy one, meaning got flash no film, is it true?

anyone kena fine and demerit pts frm that camera? pls advise. thks.

Got flash, no film.. There's no sure way to tell. But if you saw the flash, then pray hard and wait for the letter. If it doesn't come, celebrate!

 

From what I know, dummy cameras will not flash in the first place.

The reason why the red light camera flashes twice with both flashes concentrating in the middle of the junction..

 

If your vehicle appears on the 1st pic but not on the 2nd, it means you were already pass the light and perhaps some bugger behind triggered the sensor..

 

So rightfully, if both pic contains ur vehicle in it..Prepare for 12pts..

Red light cam is not applicable for right turn arrows vehicles..

It means u can still ride with 1 point until ur probation period is over, after which u will only get back 12 pts and get back the demerit pts of 12 in ur case 1 year after ur date of offence..

 

In short, riding with 1pt on ur lic, pray hard that u dont do suicidal stuff which will throw another pt to u during that 1 year..

becos it happend to me.. 2 lane only both right turn only.. got red light camera.. then the weigh sensor cant sense me too light.. so i didnt turn right.. i did a stupidly turn to the left just go off cos both left n right i can go home... once turn left my angle i see got camera... no flash, n the angle of the camera is facing the lane going towards right side.. its midnight.. abit worry and abit not.. cos no flash.. n MC28 say red light camera is not applicable to turning...

1. You turn without consideration of anyone wanting to beat the read red light. Said person runs you down. If it doesnt hurt you, it will maim you. or even kill you. A similar scenario happened to a colleague of mine during the monsoon season last year. A drunk driver beat the red light and hit my friend who was going straight, and he had the right of way. he suffered multiple organ failures, ruptured ribs, shitloads of broken bones. when he was in the OT, he technically died twice. thankfully he survived. it will be a few years before he can be close to 100% health again. Thankfully also he has workers compensation to tide him and his family over during his rehabilitation.

 

2. You hit someone who anticipated the green light, and moved off early. This happened to a Wave rider at Jalan Boon Lay at the junction of corporation Road a few weeks ago, where the rider was squeezing past vehicles, and moved off quickly. A car sped up while doing a turn, and both collided. The rider died instantly.

 

3. In a hurry to clear the junction, you dont notice the debris left over in the center of the junction, run over it while banking, and you fall over. If you are lucky, traffic will avoid you. If you are not to lucky, you will buang right infront of a moving vehicle. If thats the case, its highly likely that you die.

 

Come one people, if never get points celebrate? you are encouraging our dear friend here to continue to do foolish and dangerous acts. Even dummy cameras have a purpose, as they make motorists more self conscious.

Not applicable for right turn arrows...Which means if the right turn arrow is on or blinking and there's a red light camera there, it wont capture vehicles turning right..Note the angel of the camera, it's center-ing on the junction itself..

 

If didnt flash at midnight means u r ok..

the emergency would be if he is lying in the middle of the road, maimed and slowly bleeding to death while an ambulance is trying hard to get to his location when the road is jammed because of the accident.

 

If one is a responsible rider, this kind of thoughts would be in their mind the moment they start their bike or even get their lic..

 

If i were to add to this, my motivation is simple and primal.

I might seem like a cynic, but there are too many accidents on the road nowadays. better to remove dangerous motorists off the road before they become yet another statistic.

few weeks to months. i last time still fresh on the road also very rash one, always beat red lite, but now i scared, not cos of the points, but so many accidents happening.

Actually to sum it up, be road wise..I believe in the process of getting the license, instructor did mention about the 3 arrow leading to the junction + what speed you are on thingy..
