No secret lah. Like firestation said, treat your bike like your loved one. That is to say, with understanding, patience and learning its strength and weakness.

Binteng also said before, "Need to be ONE with your bike" He's so at one with his bike, she's even got a name, Binteng hor?

 

How to get there? Practice, practice, practice to build up your confidence. Read online(reputable ones) or magazines (I like Fast Bikes mag) about bikes and riding skills. This will help build your knowledge which MUST be put to practice.

 

Most importantly is to learn to have fun while riding.

 

Someone on this thread said something before about "clamping your legs to the tank ALL the time." That's utter rubbish. I saw the post but didn't have time to correct the mis-conception then.

It cannot be ALL the time because that means your body is tensed up all the time. That in turn translates to sudden erratic movements of the bike when you don't want/intend it.

Learn to relax while riding. Sound contradictory, but there is such a thing as being focussed on riding yet being relaxed while doing so.

 

Watch MotoGP riders who "dance" on their bikes as they carve the bends. Poetry in motion...
